Can someone describe how the series went to shit?

Somewhere around when that retard's arc was ending and El Hermano's arc was beginning was when everything went nuclear.

To put in a way that can be easily understood, I don't even bother coming to these threads anymore for the obligatory 1 page of fanservice that Tosh makes for every chapter.

Much like every other hack at Jump it went on too long to the point they ran out of ideas, got lazy, stopped giving any semblance of a fuck and rather than end with some dignity it became too far up it's own asshole to the point it's uncognizable from it's former self, you know how people usually say "Man, I miss when such and such had soul!" That's what happened to this series as will many others such as Black Clover and Promised Neverland just as it has in the past with Naruto, Bleach, Toriko, Magi, even monthly series aren't immune to running til it drops see Soul Eater, Claymore, Akane ga Kill, Full metal alchemist

>Series about creativity
>Arc entirely about people having no creativity
Solid fucking plan

I honestly think that the only way to turn this absolute garbage of an arc into a regular trash arc is to write a cliche af climax.

1. Souma beats Asahi and tells him that he doesnt have love in his heart or some bs

2. Souma beats Erina and says that he did it for her(Corny af but still better than what we have)

3. Souma cooks a meal that Erina-mom likes.

4. SouRina becomes cannon

and that, is how you fix this series

Too many tournament arcs.

I stopped after the end of the Azami Arc and the time skip. What the fuck happened with Souma, can someone sum it up for me please?

Erina

Erina. Did you ever notice how the first half of the series which was actually good had no focus on Erina? Ever since they've decided to shill her since the Azami arc, it's brought nothing but retarded drama.

The author wanted to add plot to his sports-like manga, but he never had the writing skills (nor the intention to improve) to add a decent plot for a cooking manga.
Also, somehow, none of his editors stopped him when it was clear his abortion of a plot was not a good thing for this manga.

I remember when the series was about the Jewel Generation, and then suddenly back 2 back daddy then mommy issue for our dear Erina.

I'm an anime only who only just started reading the manga. I started reading it purely because I wanted to get in on the El Hermano memery, I want to see how bad it will get in the future. Currently around the start of the election arc.

For me, honestly the election arc was the beginning of the end. It was a pretty weak arc, which seemed to focus less on the actual cooking and more showing off/setting up how cool and badass some characters were. It's like the cooking was no longer the main focus, but merely a vehicle to show off a certain character.
>Wow, the Aldini's are so cool! They're like cowboys in a foreign land!
>Wow, Nikumi isn't a meat master... she's a meet GENERAL! So cool!

Though it wasn't beyond salvation at this point. It wasn't clear that the series would go downhill. It was entirely possible that the arc was merely a weak arc in an otherwise good series. It even seemed to recover somewhat near the end of the arc as the focus returned a bit more to Souma (and his actual cooking) and the Festival arc was good to. Though the focus seemed to drive away with Azami and turning this "smug boi dazzles everyone with creative cooking" show into an "epic battle for the future of food" show. And then, of course, there's El Hermano.

In short I'd say that Azami was more or less the point of no return, but the symptoms showed up earlier. Though that's just like my opinion man.

Honest answer? Erina. The moment she finally stepped into the heroine role the manga went to shit since every storyline of hers is trash.

>Autumn Election is weak
don't use Megumi for your bait

Allow me to rephrase then: the preliminaries were weak. The election itself was pretty OK (like I said, when the focus shifts back to Souma).

Same way all shounen series turn to shit: power levels.

It pissed off its shippers.

yea the curry feels a bit lack luster with basically all other students aside from the highlighted ones being fodders.

Central Arc was fine. It wasn't great, but it was fine. But the Shadow Cook Arc is just a crime against fiction. It literally does everything wrong possible.
>Souma gets the First Seat, but immediately jobs to the new villain, because he always has to be the underdog.
We're not even allowed a mini-arc of him being on the top, despite the fact that the first seat was the most coveted and built up prestige in the series.
>Jouichirou jobs to the new villain.
This one is absolutely unforgivable, because it robs us of Souma overcoming his greatest hurdle. This was literally the match that had been built up since chapter one, and it all got thrown away for a shitty arc villain that no one cares about. It's important to note, THERE'S NO COMING BACK FROM THIS. Absolutely nothing can fix this shit, even if it gets revealed that Jouichirou threw the match on purpose. Souma overcoming his father is dead. It's dead, and the authors spit on its grave.
>cartoonish shit like villains who use chainsaws and fuck to cook
>cartoonish shit like shadow cooks in the first place, rather than focusing on academics and building a business
>Erina regressing her character again so there can be conflict
>El Hermano himself

>4. SouRina becomes cannon
Literally the only reason I'm still reading this shit. And by "read" I mean skim.

>Literally the only reason I'm still reading this shit.
How? Their romance is literally nothing, and Tsukuda went the worst route to make it happen.

this arc basically sealed the deal
>another tournament arc
>another erina arc that devolves her previous growth from last arc
>dark chefs lmao
>nen powers lmao
It also doesn't help that tsukuda has kept the focus on the same small cast, with only 2 of them being relevant to the plot. Takumi and Megumi haven't done shit recently, and the other characters may as well not exist.

>Promised Neverland
Is on its final arc and so far it looks like a definite step up from the last arc.

say what you want about the Food hitler arc, it was still much more bearable compared to the current shit we're experiencing thru

Tosh should have fix it by the end of the Central Arc instead of going El Hermano. Also what the fuck was that new E10 order?
It should be
>Erina
>Isshiki
>Kuga/Souma
>Takumi
>Lab coat jobbers, Megumi or other new students
