Only watched BnHA until about half way through S2. My main problem with it is that it wasn't going anywhere fast.

By this point in One Piece, we already had significant world building and character development (half of the supporting strawhats have protagonist-level development, and the other half are still way more developed than goddamn Bakugo and Ochako), and were moving towards the meat of the story. In HxH, the setting development was exploding, and we were entering the main plot. In YYH, we were well past introductions. In DBZ, we were on Namek. Even Fairy Tail had more movement than BnHA by this point. BnHA moves at a glacial pace, and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere interesting.

I think the reason is simply because they are secondary. All those themes and plots were already used several times in older shounens. And the readers already saw all of it. So of course there is no hype because there is nothing really new to see here. If BNHA or Neverland started publishing in 2000 for example it would have been mad hits.
