It was actually a pretty much run of the mill animation studio. Then from 2007 to like 2014 they pretty put all their focus onto doing hardcore ecchi/near borderline porn. Then they settle down again until being absorbed by Sunrise.

I actually would say Xebec was a pretty good animation studio. They had some fantastic adaptations. They were also the only studio outside of Sunrise and Bones (which was ex-Sunrise) that seemed to really commit to making their own mecha anime.

They were good at hardcore ecchi in the late-00s and 10s yeah but they would usually do an original mecha series every now and then. Nobody watched Argevollen and there was basically no hook for people to check it out but they still made it anyway
