Shouldn't have done to put it simply. The author baited with setting the last arc up with a Yoshino win only to backtrack to Aki in the last chapter. Completely stupid if you ask me because until then readers had already come to terms with Aki winning in the previous arc. This really had no other purpose other than to bait readers and add more drama.
Which is surprising is that people still fall for this sort of """bait""" after a bazillon times.
At this point anyone should know that winning before the last chapter calls for disaster and that if someone actually is going to win that's the main heroine in 99'99% of cases.

People know who likely winner is going to be but it doesn't stop people from having hopes/expectations that for once its not going to be the female with the "main heroine" status that wins. For example Rukia is the "main heroine" of Bleach and she ended up with Renji instead of Ichigo.

Not necessarily. In Nisekoi, Chitoge won about 4 chapters before the finale. Had Yoshino confessed a lot earlier in the series than far more people would have been skceptical however she did when only 1 chapter remained. Winner girls have confessed at this stage and won. A lot of people did not expect the author to switch at such a late stage and unsurprisingly the last chapter was a rushed mess to the point he had to write after story chapters for it to have made any actual sense.
I don't care that Aki won, its how she ended up winning that I'm simply disappointed that the author would add unnecessary Yoshino drama and make Neko retarded.
