Honestly, one thing people are missing is that the way Mob acts doesn't make fucking sense considering how short the whole thing was. Him getting sad made sense because they've fought for a while before Mob got there. Him giving up on saving the Boss made sense because no matter what Mob tried, Touichirou wouldn't give a shit.
I honestly think they should've just completely changed the fight instead of this kind of rushed adaptation.

I always say that as a mangafag I get to enjoy two versions of a story, which is definitely the case with Mob. It could sometimes change with each second whether I like the anime or manga better in translating parts of the story. And for this moment the anime wins

How can season 3 not happen at this point? It's clear they're not interested in finishing the series via OVA since the next one will be anime original content. The final moments of this season were spent planting the seeds (heh) of the third season. Broccoli's relationship with religion is teased, Tome gets excited over the possibility of aliens being involved, and the Takenaka cameo just show they're planning on finishing what they've started.

The manga has charm, but is just not on the same level as what Bones has done. The sky is the limit with what they're able to fit into the show.
The only problem is how short it ends up being, I would die to see more and more of this but it just can't happen.

Ep 11 was a spectacle of animation but the writing for ep 12 and 13 sealed this as my AOTS. Easiest AOTY contender thus far too, best adaptation I've seen in years.

The fight was awesome. One of the thing i really like about ONE's manga(both mob and opm) is that he is actually shows overwhelming power as being overwhelming. In like every other anime it will be like "ohmaigad, he is so strong" while the only thing that guy does is fart-tier explosion or kamehameha-tier screaming contest. Like take for example Mahouka. He turned one sniper into an ash, had healing and could fly. Two seasons of a fucking nothing except for an underwhelming nuclear-like explosion at the end. But muh jesusoniisama.

Gintama is a superb example of the well written and directed drama in its serious arks. Benizakura is pretty much better than most "serious" samurai anime existing.

While Sunrise is cheap jew for most part in anime production, it goes all out in important episodes/scenes of Gintama, knowing its its biggest hit aside from Gundam. Animation quality in some Gintama scenes and names of animators involved are such Mob can't dream about it. But the point is mostly about directing/story. MOB II finale was just plain bad. I unironically mentioned Shield Hero latest ep, since it was full of production QUALITY and cut corners - but still at any given moment was more interesting to watch than the slog the last Mob was. Mob had stuff where it should have been great, emotionally involving and impactful - but unlike S1 it failed entirely (also the enemy base fight ark in S1 was the weakest part of the season too)

Episodes 1 and 5 of MOB are splending. Last two are complete shit.

First of all, Mobfreind - Toei is notorious for litteral 3000 keyframes per episode limit for their tv series, so most of One Piece or their others series (which arent precure) are very very limitedly animated.

That said, there is no way in hell Bones can rival toei top animation quality and nothing Bones did (in Mob at least) comes close to best One Piece scenes/fights. Toei, just like Sunrise - is just another league above.

And the point of posted scene was direction, in particularly delivery of iconic scene -bringing out all the emotion to maximum satisfying climax. Something MOB entirely failed.

i brought Gintama earler, since Gintama is very similar to Mob in terms that it too tries to insert annoyingly preaching phylosophy in its serious arks - the difference from mobs, quality of writing of its serious arks is way higher. Mob stil could be salvaged by talented direction, giving a good pace and a correct viewer immersion curve for the episode - but no avail. Director is amateur and failed entirely.

In shield hero there were:
-real sense of danger in confrontation with the boss, real suspense
-real satisfaction heroes survived
-real frustration when he has to deal with oppressive king later
-real cliffhanger at the end
-not a moment of bad pacing, unnecessary scenes and stuff that makes you want to fast forward: in opposite, it flies by and you want to see what happens next

none of which mob achieved:
-the fights, in both last episodes were anticlimatic
-theres never feeling of danger and challenge
-the mob emotional troubles and motivation of villain are retarded and uninteresting, their conversations idiotic
-the fight itself is not a fight at all, not a struggle, but just mix of flashy effects, a storyboarder mastrubation

Still could have been salvaged with good director - director DIRECTS viewer to go through correct path and feel needed emotions, there is however no aim and method to Mob direction this episode at all (there are far better directed Mob episodes too). Its just weak and shallow. You can make every shallow source material dramatic and engaging - and Bones failed that task, the nearest thing being few episodes earlier when Mobs house burned down - ever since, the whole ark was huge letdown.

I think it makes sense, when Mob wants to finish Touichirou is because he can't reach him at all and decides to put an end to it before it gets worse, but then Touichirou loses control of his power and the situation changes, he is already defeated and will die if left alone the explosion will probably destroy the entire city, so Mob knows he has to stop the explosion somehow and for one last time he tries to reach him but mostly because at that point he is no longer a threat by himself and was already defeated even mentally.

It's still too fast, there were like two or three attacks inbetween those.

You're definitely right in this regard. One of the reasons I didn't care for this arc was because all of the sense of danger that was established at the beginning was done away with shortly after. Mob's parents turned out to be okay. Them along with most other non-esper characters were away from all the action, unphased from what was going on. This made the tired world-domination set-up of the arc even more uninteresting since there were really no stakes. Shimazaki was the only adversary that felt threatening. All the others were defeated anticlimactically (and not in satisfying ONE fashion), with the Boss just being boring.

Nah, the division raid arc was fun but this was one way better because we got to see all the characters actually do something. Shit like the Body Improvement Club vs Shibata, Everyone vs Shimazaki and Mob vs Serizawa with Mob vs Toichiro capping everything off were all excellent parts of this arc that more than made up for the shortcomings.

When season 2 of mob psycho 100 got announced it would be an understatement to say that I was excited. I was brimming with excitement to see the continuation of Reigen’s, Mob's and all the other characters story. But now after it’s release and I’ve watched all the episodes of my oh so awaited season 2. I’m honestly not feeling it, and I’m very disappointed.

I’m in no way saying that mob psycho 2 is a bad show. Not at all. The animation is stunning, the direction is phenomenal and the voice acting is as good, if not even better than the first season. It’s noticeable that a lot of care and effort has been put into making Mob Psycho 2. But despite all of these amazing features it has, I feel as if Mob Psycho has lost what made it unique and fun. What made the first season of Mob psycho great in my opinion is three points: the lightheartedness, the sense of humor and the characters. Season 2 only hits one of these points, but actually improves upon it. The characters. Mob and friends have never been better. Mob actually has an arc spanning over the whole season, not one forced into the last few episodes (as in season 1). Mob wants to improve as a person and actively makes an effort to do so. Something you really can’t say he does in the first season. Reigen also has an amazing arc this season. I won’t talk much about it because it would be a shame if I spoiled it for someone. Reigen was more or less the same person at the end of the first season as he was at the start. In season 2 tho, he’s a changed man at the end. It’s not only Mob and Reigen that’s gotten better, but all other characters also stepped up in season 2. They all changed so much that some felt out of character. But I don’t mind since the most of the characters are very well written. And that’s the part of Mob I adore. The rest of it kind of sucks.

What was once fresh and amazing is now just another My Hero Academia, and it’s a real shame. I had high hopes for this anime and I was let down big time. I would honestly rather watch the worst anime ever than rewatch this. The animes I feel the least from are the ones that are mediocre, the animes with extreme wasted potential. And Mob Psycho has sadly become one of them. I was expecting greatness and when what I got was very mediocre. It hit hard and my rating off this season of Mob Psycho suffered.

Mob Psycho is not enjoyable (they even botched the OP for season 2) and the probability that Mob is in fact Blast, is slim to none. If the viewer wishes to delude themselves into thinking otherwise, then that’s their prerogative. But rest assured, Mob Psycho II is bottom of the barrel, trite entertainment masquerading as an unparalleled deconstruction of the superhero genre.

The pacing wasn't the only issue with the arc. The condensed story (along with better overall presentation) just made the animated adaption easier to sit through.

I can't get over how good the courage scene was and I love how Bones animated Toichiro and Mob during that scene. Water vs Fire. Blue aura vs Red aura.
Through the whole fight Mob showed many different emotions which some were influenced by Toichiro's flaming attitude. When the manga shows Mob going 100% his faces and the atmosphere are much better, but the anime does everything else much better. They're both good and fans of one should definitely watch/read the other.

In the final arc of the manga we see the government attempt to use criminal espers to diffuse a situation involving psychic power, one of whom is Suzuki.

Usually, in a shonen the protagonist will go "MY FRIEND ARE MY POWER" at least once per arc. But it's obviously that he's the strongest, and that those words are only here to make him look as humble.

It has been a long while since I read the manga, but I remember it to be much better than what I saw today. It was fucking impossible to convey the last fight into 10 mins. Was it wrong to hope for the whole face off with flashback to at least be 20 mins with 4 mins epilogue and 10 second tease with Dimple and his "My era" dialogue?

The whole Reigen arc put this season on masterpiece level, but the ending was going on mach 10 speed with no chance to process the characters and their emotions. Shame, this needed 40 mins just like how Kekkai Sensen did it. I can at least say that Season III is going to be the best though now that they got time.

The raid arc is carried solely by Reigen 1000%. To be fair, that's mind-blowingly cathartic way to close out a season.
