You can actually use showscore and any other perk if you write them in that order with a space in between.
Any other perk after the second won't be recognized, and if the first perk is not showscore only the first will be posted.

Then, simply use the post window. You know the one, the one you get by clicking the [Post a Reply] button at the bottom of the thread, or by clicking a post number. You see that window there boy? There be a little button called "Perks" right next to the options bar. Will tell you everything you need to know.
And just because I know this is all new and scary for you, take an extra one on the house, type "showscore" into the options.

That's wrong, score gets fetched from the server. Maybe you could try and steal someone elses points with cookies, but that would be brute force and unlikely to work.
You can modify your points locally by setting PostLiker.state.score and then call PostLiker.saveState(), but it won't actually affect your showscore. Saving the state to localstore is just used so it'll propogate to all your pages without having to fetch it from Yea Forums every time. See, I just set my score to 9999 locally and it won't do jackshit.
