I really don't get where the mentality that a character being killed off is the only way for a story to be good comes from.

Through out this whole series there have been two (2) characters I felt should have really died and didn't: Othinus and Aleister. And the reason I think they should have died has nothing to do with either shipping nonsense or some fake morality "they deserve it for their sins!1!!' Accelerator and Mugino seethers spout. It has more to do with I feel the story would have ended more neatly had Othinus and Aleister died when they got their death scenes.
