The way I see it, the story is near its climax, as Shirogane and Kaguya have already made their feelings quite clear to each other. And though I'm sure Shirogane is probably rather confused with Kaguya's current attitude, I don't see the whole Iceguya deal lasting further than Christmas.
Now, of course, there's the issue of Kaguya's family. Whilst I don't think Kaguya has any particular attachment toward her family, it's clear that agreeing to Shirogane's proposal (of going with him to Stanford) is something that weighed on her mind, and I don't see Shirogane pressing her to go with him to the US if she's becoming distressed because of that. So, an arc in which they deal with Kaguya's family is something that is likely to happen. And, once that matter is taken care of, there really is nothing left to stand between Shirogane and Kaguya, so they can be with each other just as they please.

One thing is that the manga very likely won't continue after Shirogane leaves to Stanford, and we know he'll be skipping 3rd year. So, considering they're about to reach Christmas, and that the Japanese school year ends somewhere around March, the manga has around 3 more months to cover, so I don't see any time available for the secondary characters to receive any meaningful focus.

Furthermore, if Kaguya is going with Shirogane to Stanford, then it's likely that they: are already honest with each other, have already dealt with the Shinomiya family, and have probably properly confessed to one another, thus they no longer have any real motivation to keep playing their love game, which is the one defining gimmick of this manga.

There's a new servant arriving in Spring who'll almost certainly end up playing a pretty major role if Aka is bothering to foreshadow them several months in advance. That alone should be enough to disprove the notion that the story will be ending in March. We've yet to be properly introduced to Abe or Mikado, both of whom will also almost definitely play major roles (and though Mikado could at least end up being tied into Kaguya's family stuff, we know literally nothing about Abe beyond the fact that he exists). There's also Shirogane's mom and Fuji's history with the piano, as far as other potential plotpoints which may or may not end up being expanded upon. Aka has shown every intention of developing Prez and Kaguya's relationship long past the confession and kiss, thinking it's ending just because "there are no longer any obstacles to their relationship" is stupid, romance doesn't end at the confession.

Yes, which is why I said the games were toned down, and they were just being roundabout, but their aim was still that they should make the other one confess. That was a thing until Shirogane got accepted into Stanford, and decided to go for one last game, in which he decided to confess if Kaguya didn't get a hint. Hell, he even planned on keeping the game on, once Kaguya accepted his proposal, but then likely dropped the idea as soon as he got kissed.

I know it was alright but 1 and 2 were fantastic games to me. I'm sick of all the new ones being "alight" you know?

Even after the fireworks Kaguya and Prez were still completely unable to admit their feelings to each other, they just became slightly more comfortable just being around each other without getting super defensive and turning everything into a retarded mind game. Even after the sports festival Ishi didn't suddenly become super confident and outgoing, he just became more understanding and less bitter towards others. Even after literally kissing, Prez and Kaguya STILL aren't comfortable admitting their feelings to each other, and instead are both stuck trying to take awkward half-steps to get the other to confirm the status of their relationship for them.And even after they do finally start going out. that doesn't mean that they're suddenly going to become completely honest with their feelings towards the other, or completely comfortable with their relationship gradually becoming more intimate, or etc etc.

Not saying that you're wrong, but whether it's all roses after they start dating isn't really the issue here, but that after they've confessed to each other, then the love game is officially over.

Sure, the story can go on without it, but it's been an integral part of Shirogane and Kaguya's relationship for so long, and pretty much the one thing that separated this manga from the rest, as it wasn't some game based on misunderstandings. Both Shirogane and Kaguya knew very well they were playing a game, they knew that the other party was aware of the game they were playing, and they also aware that the other one had some feelings for them.

Sure, Aka can easily add some hurdles post confession (like Shirogane's mum, or whatever), but I have no idea how well that would work. The last time I saw an author do that was in Masamune-kun, and that didn't work out well, though the sequel/spin-off was nice. Of course, just because one author didn't handled that well that doesn't means others won't be able to either, but it's still a risky thing considering how much Nips love their drama, I mean, just see our current situation.

Are you people being purposely obtuse or was there a hivemind conclusion that I missed? Aka even made a joke about Kaguya flouting the premise of the manga awhile back, which meant either that he was making a joke at his own expense of how he let the narrative slip away from him (very unlikely since the writing has remained strong), or it was by way of reminding the reader that the premise is very much alive, and only had been put on the back burner while the two leads acted like idiots over the confession wars. That conflict was seemingly resolved without either voicing a confession per se, having gotten their feelings across, but that was never an end goal for either of them, but an interim goal to a main one of establishing relationship dominance. Prez hasn't said much on this latley with his confusion, but Iceguya very much is still motivated to get Shirogane to 'take the lead' in their relationship, which is tantamount to having him 'confess' his want for it to go to the next level.

The premise is not really there anymore. Kaguya wanted prez to confess before to show her dominance, now she wants him to confess to assert his dominance. Prez knows he has to confess because he has no more time to play the game, but he is autistic.

I just don't see at all why there needs to be a problem with the series just naturally outgrowing its initial premise. Just because the "love game" was initially the core premise of the manga doesn't mean the series needs to be arbitrarily beholden to that gimmick for the rest of its lifespan.
And again, even if they have kissed and will probably properly start dating within the next few chapters, they're still fundamentally the exact same insecure idiots they've been since the start, and there's still plenty of potential for them to have the same interactions as an actual couple even after the "war" has technically "ended."

It's been repeatedly shown and explained that dominance was never really a factor. It's just an excuse they told themselves to justify not confessing when they were really just afraid. Just reread their monologues in the confession chapters.
Iceguya's current behavior is similar, she's coming up with insane plans to cope with her fear thanks to her decision and Hayasaka's comments. But really, the premise is still there, of an evolved form, with us given glimpses of what psychological motivation there was which led to the long impasse, and still motivate them presently. Kaguya now wants Miyuki to pursue her not just because it's hot to be kissed, or because she's shy. What power she'd 'gain' from the relationship has other uses; she needs him to step up, pursue her with all seriousness and be the kind of boy who'd win her from daddy, since she's not able to assert herself against her family by her own will.

But with Kaguya having already agreed to go to Stanford with him, Prez would no longer feel any pressure to 'confess.' A dichotomy has been set up. Kaguya is pressuring along a different track that he's used to, but he won't recognize it because he's not privy to her situation. He tried assuming a relationship as implied by her kiss; Kaguya's motives above lends to why she rejects this so hard, what "compromises" she's making and with whom. Going forward, he's still going to be held back from 'getting ahead of himself' (words taken directly from Kaguya) as an insecure poorfag (those words should unintentionally amplify his hesitation), and won't abase himself to appear as more wanting of a deeper relationship than the one established by the mutual non-confessions.

So while I do agree something will come of Christmas, and they'll start 'dating,' I don't believe it's going to be of a unified front. Shirogane should break out of his kiss-induced stupor soon and clarify things from his perspective, finding a new resolve for why he needs Kaguya to chase him. The central pair will end up with conflicting visions of their relationship, present and future. Ishigami drama notwithstanding as a secondary theme, that should grow in prominence for awhile by comparison, I hardly think Aka is going to rob his work of its central tension.
