I've only seen AnJ without prior knowledge of it's notoriety because I spent my entire youth enjoying manly shit like playing contact sports and fighting games and I liked the artstyle. There isn't a single anime on there that I didn't like to some degree. (Violet and Paprika are the weakest but even then I respect their artistic merit. And even Lain which I have huge problems against is still somewhat an experience of its own. There wouldn't be so many Lainfags if the show didn't have that objective capacity, even if it requires too much personal interpretation to be appreciable for me but whatever).
