It's interesting to compare Spyce and Endro in that both present worlds where people are heavily defined by their roles and show how that system is negatively affecting people. But where Endro says "fuck that, let's fix it", Spyce just sort of says "well, that's the way it is I guess".

Going back in time doesn't create separate instances of people. Past Mao was teleported to the town's plaza as she was overwritten by future Mao. And nobody noticed because only Meigo was ever around her, and she was overwritten by future Meigo who was in Chibi-chan's belly.

I don't think there is one cause that would mean there would be two of the hero party and Meigo too. I think the forbidden spell turned back time not send them back to the past.

Mao got plopped out in the middle of the city because she didn't exist yet, and the hero party replaced their own bodies in that timeline.

Mao, Maigo and even Gyaru-sensei have more depth than the actual main cast.

I actually enjoyed Spyce quite a bit but it suffered from tone problems and having to relegate important details to director commentary.
Endro was inconsistent at times (Episode 9 was surprisingly weak considering how much I enjoy Mei), but it strikes a better balance and it was actually really competent whenever it wanted to be serious.
It's hard to compare the shows since one is an action show and the other is a fantasy SoL comedy, but I think that Spyce could've used a bit more time in the oven. I do think that most of the people saying its shit are people disappointed about how the traitor subplot ended.
