Anyone else think that was a pretty crappy final episode?
The whole climax of the arc and everything setup around Kaguya was the fireworks. But they rushed the shit out of that chapter, leaving zero internal monologue, cutting half the narrator's lines, and then just ended it the second she said the line. All so they had time for a chapter that serves as nothing but Aka forcefully slamming the status quo back in place (with a misunderstanding that doesn't even make sense).
Why not just end the season on the Fireworks arc? Why not actually give the Fireworks chapter some room to breathe?
True but Fireworks seems like a textbook place to end it if they were only gonna do one season. Probably wishful thinking but the fact they made a point to reset the status quo seems like they plan to continue. Not to mention all those cameos in the ED
I kind of have to agree. The climax for this episode was kind of lackluster for all the buildup we got, and certainly less impactful than how it was presented in the manga. Nevertheless, it was still a great closer for one of the best adaptations I've seen in awhile.
Yeah, it was perfectly lovely for the most part but I unironically don't get the hype. I enjoyed some earlier episodes more.
Caleb Bell
At this point it really hurt that the OST was so lackluster. Many pieces felt out of place with background music that didn't compliment the tone. Overall I liked the anime but some parts had really strange pacing. I wanted the guy from the umbrella chapter directing this. Fireworks was supposed to convey a sense of melancholy, which nailed it last week but was lost here.
Aaron Torres
and to continue, it was already a miracle that the anime was as good as it was, considering the circumstances and pessimism that people came in with
I agree, but I think some of the hype when I first saw read the fireworks was seeing posted page by page here on Yea Forums, making each page it's own cliffhanger. There's no way watching anything alone in my room could really live up to that memory.
Jose Nguyen
>Good adaptation >Skipped a bunch of chapters
Ethan Ross
Yes. Why don't you go watch a good anime with realistic people like Kanojo, Okarishimasu. Oh wait.
Bentley Stewart
The only good thing that came out of this radio show. Nobody can control /ourguys/ my pace~san and his army of shitposters.

>this is the thing that was hyped up with apparently recorded reactions of manga readers Oy vey. Literally only the last ~30 seconds of that chapter was good, with the heartbeat and Kaguya looking at Prez. And everything that came aftewards. At least the rest of the series was good in the end, so it doesn't matter much that that was weak.
>A1 >Literally who VA's >A1 >Just 12 episodes >A1 >Comedy manga adaptation, which is VERY hit or miss >A1
My expectations were literally 0 before the anime aired and I was very pleased overall. I WOULD have made it so that 45 was the last episode to be adapted, but it was alright I guess. I liked it. Jay jay chapter was fine because even if it shows that things are "back to normal", they're way more self-conscious about each other
Grayson Powell
It wasn't a title drop by the letter, but it captured the essence of a title drop, especially if you were watching with subs
Can someone explain the hype to me? It doesn't seem to be cleverly written, or even consistent between episodes. The characters are hit or miss. It's memeable and accesible with mediocre art direction, an uninspired setting and an uninspired conflict that goes now where for a long time just to do it's run of the week trivia again. I honestly don't get why it's heralded, popular, or acclaimed. I saw the fire works seen, nothing all that special there. You watch 10 years worth of romcoms and I'd imagine you see this scene several hundred if not thousand times. gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun had a more memorable finale, better character writing, and more interesting side and main characters.
Kevin Garcia

>this flopped so deluded. and the point of the anime was to have people be interested in the manga BECAUSE they enjoyed watching it,
>and the point of the anime was to have people be interested in the manga BECAUSE they enjoyed watching it, so like every other anime then ? anime dont make money, they are literally just a 20min ad for the paper version/goods
Henry Brown
it was executed poorly compared to the manga and i'm still not sure HOW i know they skipped the "rando chad following Kaguya into the alley" fakeout and it really hurt the moment, but not ending the episode at the title drop was and keeping going into the aftermath was the worst idea, that stuff would be perfect to start another season/extra episode, not end it all
Caleb Morris
go read the manga
Austin Stewart
>Why don't you go watch a good anime with realistic people The manga is good but this adaptation was not able to catch it's humor. The last 3 episodes were so boring it was unbearable.
Logan Flores
Surely they wouldn't bother to show characters from the second half of the series for no reason? Aka you fucking NIp hack faggot.
Nicholas Thomas
Everyone keeps telling me that? Wtf that it do different. The characters are magically better, does the random episodic shit dissapear? Do they suddenly murder each other in a fit of frustration? Is there relevant progress before the 60 chapter mark? Camon man, people that say the manga is significantly better sound fucking delusional to me
Ayden Kelly
Yeah man, it means there will be a season 2. For sure...
The anime never had a chance. It doesn't have 800 redditors overhyping it with Jag.

Ryder Price
In this case I blame the direction. In the last episode it was all over the place. Firewoks should have had a slower pace, maybe an anime original instrospection of Kaguya's mind. Instead it felt like it was rushing to have enough time to squeeze another chapter in. The pacing was spot on in the early episodes but somehow fucked up in the last stretch. I'll stick to blaming SAO for this. Still, good adaptation considering the disaster it could have been. At least animeonlyfags should fuck off now.
Brody Garcia

I don't speak for anyone else, but I really just love Kaguya because it never fails to make me laugh every week. The entire cast even the side characters are likeable as fuck, and the main duo has such a unique dynamic that makes it stand out from other mains. The author sprinkles details across chapters like an autist, and loves using memes and poking fun at his own work. I don't know or care if it's a masterpiece, it just happens to be the romcom I've been engaged with the most in a genre that seems so bland 90% of the time.
Connor Price

What are you gonna do kid? Cry? Pee your pants? Maybe shit them and cum too?
Noah Rogers
You can only blame ramen for so much. They tried to cram the fireworks arc in 14 minutes without sacrificing the OP. And cooldown chapters are a luxury in the manga that the anime can't afford. The whole airplanes chapter should have been a three minutes epilogue with Shirogane freaking out in the SC room and Kaguya blushing behind the door while hesitating to enter, then panning out to the cameos of everyone they want to introduce later. They did have the time, it was just poorly managed.
Jordan Cooper
The manga is good and the anime bad. The same is true for 5toubun, although to a lesser degree. JoJo part 5 on the other hand is a rare case in which the adaptation is better than the manga.

Sales are fine. Blame animeonlyfags. Kaguya threads before the anime hit were the least autistic out of romcom threads. 2nd season will be a train wreck. >more arcs >more continuity related moments >less things you can remove >the best place to stop is 101, so you need to rush through around 55 chapters
I'm heavily conflicted. Not finishing the episode with the first chapter was a HUGE misstep and the subsequent part created a monstrous mood whiplash. Also, the moment itself wasn't as nicely directed as it could have possibly been. But the "PRESENTED BY MIYUKI SHIROGANE" was raw G O L D
Adam Perry

Actually manga boost doing it so well if you count it since anime adaptation announced.
when anime adaptation announced it's around 2.4 Million and probably we will reach 6 Million milestone in the next 2-3 chapter.
BD just little bonus nowdays, streaming license probably has same price as TV license for 1 episode it can costed around 100K USD, and that's already covered production value for that episode.
imagine Kaguya who aired in 8 TV station in japan and Multiple streaming sites in West and China. they probably gain more profit on something like that rather than BD sales nowdays.
You wouldn't want either one of them to lose, would you?
Luis Garcia
I'd rather it had OVAs every once in a while like Seitokai Yakuindomo, at least until the end of the SC term. If there's a S2, I'd rather have it start with the elections arc. Kaguya is the one who keeps making things worse for herself though, which is why she keeps losing recently.
If it was successful enough, wouldn't a 26 episode season be greenlit?
Anthony Gray
So like, how did Prez even find that tweet in the first place? Let alone immediately after she tweeted it. Suspension of disbelief is one thing but I always found it really weird that it's literally never acknowledged how Prez actually found Kaguya's profile.
Ethan Brown
I thought Hayasaka was texting Prez
Joseph Thompson
The idea is that both of them are so bored during summer vacation, they had plenty of time to fuck about, and be obsessed with each other. Prez probably kept checking to see if she somehow made a twitter account at any point, favorited her page (so she wouldn't notice him with a follow), and checked it from time to time.
Prez probably found her account in the days before the fireworks. Her profile states exactly who she is so it's not impossible that he just tried searching for Kaguya on Twitter on a whim and came across her account. After that he probably started stalking her twitter without actually following it, and periodically checked it after she cancelled because he knew something was up.
Justin Ross
What sort of headaches could coffee making POSSIBLY bring about? Ballroom dancing is pretty obvious, since her toes are in danger, but coffee feels pretty low on a list of possible mental trauma for Fujiwara. But knowing Prez, I don't doubt he can make it turn into a nightmare.
I don't know how long it takes to get an update but you can get an RSS feed of a twitter account, set the update interval to 1 minute or less, and set a special alert for that specific feed.
Grayson Long
I never really found it THAT weird and always just assumed that he found it at some point during the Summer, but it is still kind of odd that it was never explained at all, even in just a small aside panel or volume extra.

"Like, hah look Fujiwara spins Kaguya round and pushes her into the car!" wut?

As if otterfagging isn't the correct answer to Aka's bullshit, slamming the Reset Button after every single climax.
After the Fireworks Arc, after the moon-gazing, and now after the kiss. Every single time there's progress or things are going to move forwards, he puts in some completely random misunderstanding and it's all undone, moving several massive steps backwards.
I actually believed this time, thinking it'd be interesting seeing Ice-Kaguya, the colder side of her, a look at her past and how she fell in love with Pres. But it's all just the same bullshit as ever, it's literally just Kaguya not interacting with Pres while tearing down their relationship for zero reason. We know what he did meant the world to her, but she's apparently super convinced it's important to crush his feelings.
It sucks man, and it really makes me wonder if Pres doesn't deserve better than her.

>Upgraded Kaguya >It would've been pretty funny If prez had confused her for Kaguya and took her to see the fireworks instead haha.
After the latest chapters, I really feel like Pres deserves better than Kaguya. It's painful how much better Hayasaka would be with him.
Yep. A lot was skipped, and even what wasn't was sometimes trimmed down. There was a punchline to the ramen skit that was straight-up skipped, for example, a removed page of Shirogane bumbling his way through the French party that was probably the most memorable of the chapter. There's also a second "Fujiwara training Shirogane" chapter that's actually more consequential than the first, and Hayasaka in latex, and all sorts of stuff like that.

The fireworks arc in the manga had a shit ton of build up with the way earlier part1 of "I can't hear the fireworks." establishing her fixation with seeing them and enjoying her summer with friends. Then you get like 5 chapters of her getting cucked out of this, culminating in her being told she can't go, with the final page Prez seeing the tweet. Then the next chapter is ALL Kaguya's perspective (the little bits of Prez figuring shit out was saved for an extra) and ends with an amazing title drop that pays off all that build up from the last like 6-7 chapters.
Between cutting chapters to fit everything into 12 episodes and trying to format what's left into longer episodes, they knew that they couldn't get anything near the same build up, which means nowhere near the same pay off.
So instead of try anyway and have a lackluster finale end the last episode they left time to do the goofy dogfighting chapter which on it's own is pretty funny and much less of a blue balling nut shot than it is in the manga because the romantic moment it follows is much less significant.
I'm alright with the last episode, but it is the only episode I'd say you should stop and read the manga first, compared to the rest of the episodes where you can read the manga later.
If having sex can turn Tsubasa from his old plain self into this chad,

Yakuza-chan focus chapter when? I'd love to see what the favor Shirogane did for her that was big enough that she had to do the legwork for his balloon plan to pay it off.
Also, what other minor characters would you like to see get more focus or stuff to do? I wouldn't mind seeing more of Onodera (the only female classmate of Ishigami who doesn't treat him like shit).
>She did the same shit Kaguya's currently pulling The small difference being Kaguya already kissed Prez. Another difference is that, despite her roundabout ways, she's actually given Prez some leads (like telling him she's happy when he compliments her).
Furthermore, Kaguya isn't acting retarded just because, she started acting like this because she went into panic mode after: 1) Haysaka told her that her french kiss had some sexual implications and that the Prez might think she's a slut, 2) realising she had agreed to something serious (leaving her family to go with Prez to the US) - though, this one would probably never been an issue, had she not lost her high she got after getting indirectly confessed to, and having had her first kiss.
I feel a little sad it's over now. It's been a while since I felt the urge to watch streams for an anime while it was airing, and I even got my sister to watch it with me and she loved it too.
