Remember Madoka threads? Remember when we all met IRL to watch Rebellion together?

If I saw only 77.5% of the movie I'd probably thought it was good.

A trap for newfags

Oh good. A madoka thread is here. I've been meaning to continue my Magical Girl of the Day series.

>and the torrent got stuck at 77.5%
care to explain?

tfw watching it at 4am and being too giddy to sleep afterwards

Excellent opinion.

Based as fuck.

The BD was leaked by some Chinese guy whose connection was apparently not very good because the torrent got stuck multiple times, most notably at 77.5%.

I remember suffering through the unsubbed camrip, trying to make out a pixel.

5 years ago, I was planning to suicide after watching Rebellion, but itsn't worth it.

Good times.

Homura is responsible for:

>saving Madoka, her hope, and her love
>protecting all life in the universe from the meguca system
>reviving her friends and giving them the happiness they were denied for so long
>creating a new, perfect universe safe from Incubators and witches
>finally giving Madoka a normal life while keeping the LoC intact
>building the hype by stalling the torrent
>causing waves of Madoka posts on Yea Forums
>making the third movie set sales records
>making Gen enjoy his trip in France so much that he spilled the beans on an upcoming 2-cour Madoka project at the french convention Epitanime 2013
>inflicting despair upon the Incubators
>killing all the majuu singlehandedly
>Madoka having enough karmic destiny to overcome her doomed magical girl fate
>Mitakihara City's weapons arsenal being used before the expiring date
>revealing Madoka's killer instincts by triggering Mami's insanity
>revealing the truth about the inevitable fate of all magical girls
>giving impotent anons concrete erections with her perverted goddess smile and outfit

She has become perfection incarnate and must be loved at all costs.

I want to gattai with Homulilly!WITCH. I miss the tripfriend!

Okay, you guys. Gachashit is already garbage. If we have the fourth movie, will you come to Japan for the premiere? Tokyo or Osaka? Do you want to meet me irl?

kek

Yes, yes. You have me!

Cute homu is cute! Are you British?

Apparently the chinese guys might not like the last scene or were so in to it that they forgot about video recording.

Why don't you learn Japanese? You have me!

Okay, I'm Madoka! If you're a magical girl, I'll pick you up within the witch's labyrinth. Mercy killing is your best choice!

I watched the show and Rebellion last night. While it’s good to see the other characters had happy endings, Homura’s ending is fucking depressing.

Help me bros I need a good drama with a happy/happier ending.

That's the ending Homura wished for. She wanted to sacrifice herself for Madoka.

Anyone else rewatching today?

It's the happiest ending in fiction. Really.
If you don't understand this, then you have a narrow point of view. Expand it.

I really really REALLY can't understand how people can even have such a perspective.
Like, what would be a perfect happy ending for you?
Can you name it, or have you just never thought about it?

It's really not. Sure, Homura achieved what she hoped to, but she didn't achieve personal happiness by doing it.

The only thing stopping Homura from being happy is her self-loathing.

It's not only that. Homura dragging Madoka down from heaven means Madoka forgot about all the timelines Homura spent trying to save her. Homura is no longer her "very best friend". She lost her connection to Madoka.

>Homura literally gained eternity and redeemed the world from Nihilism (something that is so great that no one in real live would ever dream of it)
>The only price she paid for it is that she can not spend "happy time" together with Madoka, while still having saved all of her friends. She still protects and cares for Madoka from a distance.
Somehow people manage to convince themselves that this is not the ultimate happy ending.

Like, get some fucking perspective, lads.
What do you even want?
Homura gained exactly what she wanted, forever. And she is perfectly fine with it.
Everything else is headcanon and a clear sign that you don't understand it.

Oh, hey, it's my secret crush.

Like, let me put it in a different scenario with a slightly different tone.

So, you have a soldier who is fighting a losing war against a foreign invasion.
The most important thing for that soldier is his country because he LOVES going camping with his brother in the mountains or something.
He fights in the war, and eventually against all odds he becomes a general and then they win the war gloriously. And no one of his friends die, and he even pulls his brother to safety after he gets injured.
And then the war is won gloriously.
But he is now the general of the country and has to serve his duty all the time in order to keep his country and family save and he does not have time to go camping with his brother anymore. So his brother goes alone.

THAT is what you are calling "sad" and "depressing".

Homura not being fine with it isn't my point. Homura is fine with it just like Madoka is fine with being a goddess.

And don't talk like you understand Rebellion perfectly. A lot of things are left up to interpretation.

I don't see how your analogy is relevant at all.
And I didn't call it sad and depressing, that was another guy.

I never claimed that I understand Rebellion perfectly.
However, I understand it enough to know that a lot of you fags get it wrong.
>And I didn't call it sad and depressing, that was another guy.
Well, then that reply was meant for him

Unhappy ending does not mean it's a bad ending.
Rebellion is the ultimate pleb filter

>Homura uses LOVE to pull a happy ending out of her ass
Kinda BS desu

It was a rather logical conclusion.

>being this much of a brainlet
