10 was decent 11 was decent outside of the cerulean fights.

I noticed after the big burst of nu-kaban images when ep.5 aired they went back to drawing S1 Kaban unless it was something specifically involving Punished Kaban (A Bag denied her Serval).

It's because people really don't like the idea of Kaban and Serval becoming permanently separated from each other. It'd be like Wakaba dying after Kemurikusa and in Kemurikus S2, he's off learning about new Kemurikusa with some human girl while all Rin can do is watch by the entrance of the ship, unable to do anything to get her Wakaba back despite everything everyone, including herself, sacrificed for her and him. It's one of the things that makes me absolutely refuse Nu-Kaban's existence and is one of my biggest axes to grind with KF2.

What are your thoughs/opinions of this season?

To me this season was much inferior to the original, there was a couple of concepts/ideas that had potential to a better story, or at least not not used in a way to improve the overall story

The idea of Ceruleans taking the form of vehicles or inanimated objects were interesting as it could suggest that this 'lifeform' is mutating or evolving and trying to adapt to their enviroment

Many didn't like the idea that there is aquatic celurian, but this is a neat/intriguing concept as it could mean that there are cerulians that are mutating/evolving and that would mean that wayer is no longer a safe place to take refugee of the big monster celurians

'The Beast' Friends: the idea is intriguing, that means that in some point before the fall of the mankind, humans tried to tame these rare Friends that were to wild to be tame and could end up chain them and experiment with them, it gives a darker tone to the overall story, but so far in this season it haven't been explored, only mentioned, missed opporrtunity IMO.

Domestic Doggo Friend: this truly is the most frustrating point of this season, the missuse of this character, which had an enormeous potential (almost a key role on this season's story), truly piss me off, first of all, I disliked how they treated her in regard the animal abuse, and then even after she almost get killed by the Tiger, shit MC didn't even tried to include her in her party
Domestic Doggo is a rare Friend in this series, because prretty much all the friends in the series are wild undomesticated animals, whereas Dog is the first full trully domesticated animal with a really stronk bond with humas, which opens the series to unexplored territory (story wise) and how her relation with one of the last humans in this series could be, aside of Kaban, to me Doggo could be more loyal to her human as any other Friend animal could dream to be
To me the story on this season should have been centered with shitMc, Doggo and Caracal, Doggo could have find MC soon after she get out of the capsule she is in and soon after Caracal joins the party, Caracal being a feline and a wild animal is more independent of a human, where Dog would be more loyal and dependent of Kyruru, this could have provide a good dinamic between Dog/Caracal relationship
Serval should have been keep with Kaban and when the croossed paths in ep5, it would have been a nice reminder of the season1 MC's
If they have plans for a sacrifice like Kaban did in the end of S1, in this one Doggo could do it, as she is so loyal that she is willing to sacrifice herself for her beloved master, as Caracal would never do such sacrifice

Doggo sacrificing herself for Kyururu at this point would piss people off to no end.

In all, I do feel that KF2 did have some interesting ideas of its own, but its utter failure to build upon the things preestablished by the first anime, as well as everything it did to ruin the optimistic, happy, ending of the original by making it completely moot and irrevocably ruining not only what was the new cornerstone of the franchise, Kaban and Serval and Lucky's relationship just so they can tell the story of some completely new Friend, doomed it to where it is now. The fact it looks bad in animation and the writing lacks any of the slow worldbuilding or show-don't-tell attitude of the original, in addition to the lack of interviews with animal caretakers resulting in the loss of that personal connection to animals, only guaranteed it would have nothing appealing to fans of the original.

In addition, making watching the original anime a requirement to understand who Kaban and the Owls are and why they know so much means people will invariably compare KF to KF2, and the difference in quality is staggering.

We shouldn't forget KF1 and the happiness it gave us but I think it's time to accept we will never get the continuation we wanted. But Tatsuki is still making anime and the success of Kemurikusa means he'll be able to make whatever he wants for a long time so we can continue going on wild rides and new adventures with whatever things he dreams up.

The only regret I still have is that the people who were given KF don't seem to love and respect it the same way Tatsuki did.

I still can't understand how any of the story directions they decided to go with made sense, even from a long-term marketing standpoint where they've had Kaban and Serval together in everything post-anime. Was Kyururu's story really that important or necessary enough that it justified missing out on a huge chunk of time with the characters audiences came to see as the faces of the franchise? It sure would've been nice seeing Kaban, Serval and Lucky grow together for a couple more seasons at the very least before going ahead with another time skip.

Honestly i figured it was more of a bad fan fiction complete with SI that everyone likes despite acting like an ass, who is better then the real main character but does adventures in their place, and everyone is out of character

Doggo shoots herself after fart-chan abandons her. We see her twitching on the floor for a solid minute while blood spurts out of her forehead. Turns out she actually doesn't die and instead became quadriplegic. You can see a tear rolling down her face as she lays in a puddle of her own blood and the camera fades out. Nobody will realize what even happened until days later.

The original anime by Yaoyorozu is really, really good despite its lacking animation, but that too becomes charming. Be careful though, as it will make you want more, but there isn't any more.

Everything worked out for the best for Tatsuki and Yaoyorozu, and they seem to be dedicated to creating healing anime given Irodori's ONAs all being really heartwarming, whimsical, and light-hearted. It cannot be understated how awful we will never get to see more of the adventures of Kaban, Serval and Lucky in the way Yaoyorozu had wanted, but KF2 can only negatively ruin your perception of KF if you take it as truth that it is a continuation.

I think it's just that Kimura is inherently less into animals than Tatsuki is, so rather than making them retain their animal behaviors and their ways of thinking like animals, he should instead make the Friends humans with animal features and some residual traits since they were in contact with humanity for so long, which is wrong as even Friends who've gained more humanity in them by being in closer proximity to human utilities and services still have that animal-logic to them. Black Bear still acts like a black bear and the owls still act like owls despite their new interests. Red fox still acts like a fox despite her love for GEIMU and her newfound laziness, etc. Friends don't move into buildings but continue to make nests and burrows and live outside unless they become clever enough or realize that they need actual housing to match their new size, which most seem to never reach that point, being content with living in the wild.

I still think we as reasonable in Ep 9 as well.
I mean she was stress out about a friend getting kidnapped just to find them fucking off and pretending it never happened.
Any normal person is going to get pissed and follow that up well I don't need you anymore just to make it worse.

kimura isn't even to blame really for the shortcomings of kf2, the writer is. i was mad for awhile and blamed him, but the faggot who turned all the cute friends into bickering, complaining negative characters is the real reason i'm upset.

I see it, since they're on an island, they basically know each other, and sooner or later, the asshole score adds up. Animals can literally be assholes to each other, and I assume the friends keep this trait.
