Would be interesting if we learn that the queen dowager set up this whole ordeal so that Iris can eventually marry the first prince.

To make a counter example, we have Shadow who is fleshed out. Greedy as fuck, autistic as fuck, focused as hell, and always has his own priorities. Selfish as hell, just goes with whatever is most fun. There's a lot of shit that goes into his details. He has his desires, to be the hidden power and a mob during the day, fantasizing and plotting on how he can achieve such a goal. There's a lot to him as a character.

The plot is interesting. The character isn't. A story can have a good plot, but a completely dull heroine or mc. Utterly separate details. An artifact could do everything with the plot. Doesn't make it an interesting character.

The point with the counter example is the details as a person. Alpha as a person, is undetailed. What makes Sid so interesting is that he's very detailed. There's tons of stuff as readers we see about him. About Alpha, we see jackshit of that sort of stuff. She ends up being a blank, just another name that goes Sasuga Shadow sama. As a character, she doesn't spark interest sides being detailed as a big boobed blonde elf. That's really the only interesting thing about her, if you can even say that.

He's finally a Demon Lord and so far it looks like it might be building a town from the ground up. At least he has a more reasonable stance on slavery unlike the standard isekai protag
