Who the fuck reads manga anymore
Either or. It's a case by case basis for me
I watched Devilman Crybaby and then read the manga only to discover that the manga is 100x better.
This
I tend to watch the anime first and complete with the manga. Or I follow up with both to see if there is any difference.
That's because I tend to be more entertained with anime and manga tires me faster
Both at the same time. I read the manga with the anime on another monitor while waiting for the voices before moving from panel to panel, instead of reading subtitles.
I ask Yea Forums what to do
brainlet
I watch manga
I now only bother watching anime of manga I've already read. The only time the reverse is true is if the manga hasn't been scanlated.
Depends, if its an old series or if everyone says its better to read the manga first then the manga
If its something i discover because its currently airing then the anime
I read the VN then laugh at any kind of adaptation.
I'd like your expert opinion on Clannad.
I've been doing this ever since DEEN trolled me with F/SN. Guess I had to learn it the hard way.
it's shit
I read the manga if the anime is interesting; if I've already read the manga I'll watch the anime if the budget is good
i read the manga when the anime is too much before the manga or the anime stay as unfinished
i read anime
I read manga more than I watch anime. Hell, there's like somewhere around 60-70 manga series I'm following right now and four anime series I'm watching right now.
I read the manga.
I don't watch anime anymore because adaptations are so soulless these days.

This. I'm often already reading series that get adapted, at which point I'll watch the anime anyway. If I'm not already reading the manga, I'll probably read it after finishing the anime. In some rare cases I'll pick up the manga before the anime finishes, but usually I try to stick with one medium at a time and wont switch until I either finish it or catch up to the current episode or chapter. I try to watch the anime first because it helps me better visualize the characters, especially in the cases on LN adaptations. But reading manga feels more stimulating or faster-paced than watching anime, so sometimes I start with the manga.
I'll usually read the manga first. If it's something that's airing and I really like it I'll even just save up the episodes and marathon them after I'm done/caught up with the manga. I think it's more interesting to read an author's original and then watch the same story but with whichever director's particular twists
Depends which caught my attention first.
If the manga's the original I usually read the manga first. Sometimes I don't even bother watching the anime at all. Some manga originals aren't translated though while their anime adaptation is. Sometimes the anime has a better reputation than the manga (CCS and K-ON for instance I watched the anime first) and sometimes I'll watch the anime first then.
anime is for faggots and queers, true men only read manga
Depends, but I usually only end up watching a couple epsiodes of the anime before dropping it because it's not as good.
I watch the pilot then read the comics
If the manga is good, then the anime will be good.
Prove me wrong.
Should I read the manga or watch the anime adaptation of Monster?
I usually start by fapping do the hentai first actually
Read the LN first
I start with finishing the anime because usually it's the inferior version so it's easier to sit trough if i haven't read the same thing but better and it also enhances the manga experience by comparison. Goblin slayer is a recent example.
Berserk
I usually rush the manga in a day or two if I liked the first couple of episodes
Goblin Slayer
only check out the manga if something about the art intrigues me.
I read the mango first, tho most the times I never get to the anime because I dont want to do over the story again.
uh... lots of people still do mate.
I am currently reading JoJo, and I haven't watched the anime yet. It's pretty good. Only on part 5 right now though.
jotaro dies in part 6
I am very shamefully an animeonly. I'm trying to make it a goal to read three or four manga a season before their adaptations premiere the next. I also made sure to read the first Alita series before the live action movie.
its depressing when you realize the majority of anime are just advertisments for their source materials. a lot of them do not get additional seasons either so might as well make your life easier with the source.
Barely any manga authors write their plot with it staying a manga in mind. Even if it's a pipedream, they all imagine it is actually an anime while writing it.
I watch 2 episodes of any new anime and then just read the manga instead because i'm too impatient
That sounds like bullshit to me and doesn't even make any sense in the context of what that user said. Why would you write a long running series for an anime when at most you'll get a 13 or 26 episode adaptation that will only cover a couple of arcs? What do you even mean by writing with it being an anime in mind? Anime is just animation. How do you write a series of still frames in a comic format for it to be better or worse as an animation? Why then do anime adaptations fuck up the simplest things if the mangaka made it easy on them in whatever way you're talking about?
Source material 1st and then adaptations after makes the most sense
this
characters' first pronoun choices give a lot of characteristics to each characters. you can't get it if you read manga.
or, even if you read manga, for example, Bleach's Ichigo uses 俺, Naruto uses オレ, Luffy uses おれ. they all sound 'ore' but even those little differences give each characters different vibes. anime definitely gives additional character info you miss when you're reading flat english translation.
What specifically is the significance between those three? I've always wondered what the point of writing native Japanese words in katakana is as I've seen it a lot in raws. Though the difference in writing wouldn't be apparent in the anime (only in manga, but also only in the original language unless there's a translator's note) so I don't know why you're bringing it up as part of your argument that anime does this specific thing better.
watch the anime, and if I really liked it give the manga a chance
only has happened 3 times
It depends on the series, sometimes both, sometimes one r the other. As long as you are open to having either it's good. I think people who say only read the manga or only watch the anime are both wrong. Indulge yourself in what you like no matter the medium.
Majority of Yea Forums read manga more.

It's simply easy and convenient, more varied and less time consuming.
thank you redditor, very cool
Exclusively anime, leave reading the manga to the moonspeakers.
