But a terrible match for Kaguya who says overly harsh words that he takes each one entirely serious, and he can't understand any of her signs because he's expecting too many layers to them, and he can't work off any verbal feedback.

No the joke is that she's acting the same as always from his perspective, this is how he always sees her. This is literally how he described her in one of his early on chapters.

Pretty good, Prez is catching on and it's clear why Kaguya is acting like a retard.
