Isekai is an insidious plot mechanic because it is normalizing life after death in a way that specifically appeals to suicide-prone depressed NEETs.

Discuss.

I highly doubt a bunch of weebs and neets killing themselves is a bad thing.

It won't work as a way to promote suicide of undesirables unless you can convince them that isekai is a thing which actually happens, which is difficult considering that japan is one of the least religious countries in the world.

And thats a good thing.

>neets
As of lately most of them like Slime, Overlord and Tanya seem to be appealing to depressed wageslaves instead

There is literally nothing wrong with killing yourself as long as it doesn't completely fuck over other people like throwing yourself into a high-speed freeway.

Does that mean you would be down to find out if isekai is real?

Not yet unfortunately. Still have a lot of shit in my backlog to get through.

I'll post here again eventually if I ever do get to Gensokyo.

In what way is that insidious?

>Insidious: proceeding in a gradual, subtle way, but with harmful effects.

The harmful effect being that it could encourage suicide by promoting delusional beliefs in the afterlife in already unstable people?

Op is talking about the demographic not the archetype.

You should take your own advice and kill yourself

Makes sense.
I really hate being a wageslave but I have to pay for my lifestyle someway.

Most of the time the character doesn't even die. I'd say playing a game and it magically becoming real is at least as common of a cliche, if not more. My favorite is still Re:Zero where it happens completely out of nowhere for no discernible reason.

I want Aqua to piss into my mouth.

Ywn get a manga that chronicles the fallout of the truck driver who ran over some kid. Slapped with vehicular manslaughter.
>life of guilt
>Commits suicide.
>Get's isekai'd
>Turns out the kid became the dark lord
Truck Driver: "Wow. Not Sorry. Gonna kill you again."

>Mr Tomino said that I can get my own mecha and a half naked fairy sidekick to go with it if I can jump straight to a cliff with my motorcycle over some rich brat's convertibles running at 180 mph. Hmm, I wonder if that's true...

sixth aqua thread just today.
The spam is unreal, hopefully youll get banned

I would watch this.

That seems even less plausible than "video games cause school shootings".

>watch

I would consume this media.

Courts and drivers mostly blame pedestrians for getting run over.

You'd still be scarred for life. Replaying that moment in your head. Never driving again. Channeling your torment into a cartoon lion who is also plagued with a similar guilt.

Doubt. Most people barely regret things they did intentionally because they find excuses to justify their behaviour. They would likely be upset for a while but feel vindicated when the court slapped a few points on their license and told them to be more careful.

EBINNN

it's the way to filter good series.

has anime = series is good

More like for these neets who want to run away from the real world, get a new life with some beautiful girls.

I don't think anyone believes they're going to become Kazuma if they kill themself.

If they do believe that, then they're delusional, and probably would have found a way to justify suicide eventually with or without Isekai.

I'm a NEET and I agree

By most people aren't aspies without a conscious.

Everyone blames how nice the fantasy looks, nobody ever blames how shit the real world is in comparison.

But the fantasy is just a hyperbole of the real world.
