Well the only arcs to actually make me cry in the manga were the Divine Tree Arc and the confession Arc, so I guess those. But I really really enjoyed Reigen's Arc in the anime. It was actually flawless. The director of the episode said that it was some of the hardest work he put into a project and it absolutely shows.

A selfish part of me wants him to keep it around even if it runs the risk of rotting away and becoming a shell of its former self. But a larger part of me is happy that it's a contained, fully realized, genuinely good piece of work that accomplished what it set out to do and can be remembered fondly as a great story from beginning to end.

Basically all of these I really have mixed feelings about this.

ONE's omakes are pretty self deprecating so I'd give him a little more credit. he also said he was aspiring to be a mangaka since his school days so I wouldn't be surprised if he was pulling from a bank of ideas he saved up.

I'm re reading the manga, and during Ritsu's arc shouldn't Mob have noticed that Ritsu had gained psychic powers since he can tell who's an esper at first glance?

Two explanations for that:
1. He only senses espers when he's actively turning on his sensor
2. Ritsu was still a commoner when Dimple didn't possess him

I think the answer is similar to questions like:

I think it has something to do with focus. Espers aren't always paying attention to the things related to psychic energy (and with Shimazaki the other way around). As Reigen said before, Mob is able to see two worlds in a way and that counts for other espers too. That's a lot of impulses extra, that could drive one insane if you pay attention to everything. Even as a normal person, just trying to pay attention to everything around you all at once is just not possible. Takenaka is another example. Hearing everyone's thoughts was really too much for him too until he learned to ignore some of it, with a little help of his headphones. Long story short and back to your question: Mob simply didn't pay attention. Which is also kinda a plotpoint: How he realized he didn't pay attention to his brother's personal struggles, because of his own.

How to end the final episode was a big problem, but Tachikawa mentioned that the way they wrapped things up, it was the best possible option. You'll see what that's about when it airs. I can't get enough of it. The scene of the ending lead to a big incident with Reigen's seiyuu Sakurai, you'll see what I mean after the broadcast.

The animator who did the Shibata vs BIC scene and the Tsuchinoko ending in season 1 wanted to include a certain character's certain "thing" at the ending of the final episode no matter what. MP doesn't restrict the ways of expressions so they were able to put in some really interesting stuff that even surprised the director.

In China there are 3 major sites for ratings: Bangumi.tv, douban.com and bilibili
On bangumi Mob (8.5) beat the rest by a huge margin compared to Kaguya (7.9) and Dororo (7.6)
On douban (equivalent to chink IMDB) it scored a fucking 9.7, which is like, almost impossible. It's the highest rated Japanese anime on there I think (FMAB got a 9.5)
Bilibili is kind of weird in a sense that it's dominated by haters and lovers alike, they always score either lowest or highest. Even then, Mob is one of the only shows period that can keep its score of 9.9 this season, the other one being Kaguya.

The mogami arc was top-notch in the anime though. I get the complaints but I think the pacing wouldn't have been great (mostly due to the limits of this being a 20-minute-per-episode anime) but they captured the arc's tone extraordinarily well. The use of bleaker, more violent and stark imagery throughout the episode created a really unsettling disconnect with the other episodes that made it stand out quite a bit. It's my most rewatched ep in years for a good reason.

I heard during the threads that Mogami was more or less a "villain of the week" but I'm glad that was just a shitpost, it was a very pleasant surprise seeing him again in episode 11 and seeing how his character changed after meeting Mob.

It's such a fascinatingly cinematic episode that didn't hold back at all, I'm so amazed with the direction they went with it and just how much Hakyuu Go went all-in with making sure it was a spectacle. Everything from the usage of OST to the art to the animation, fuck this show is the gift that keeps on giving.

Chapter 91 is the only chapter of the aftermath and that really isn't a whole episode's worth of content.

I was tearing up all tensed up yesterday after watching the Mogami 2 parter and wanted to make a thread talking about how it might be the best dual-episode out of any anime. My family stood in silence as we all watched possessed Asagiri straight up go full exorcist and Mob getting tortured was unreal. Asagiri smiling at the end made me break down a bit and I didn't look at the rest.

But that was yesterday. Today we saw the Reigen arc and I was silently crying, then held back once it finished and went up to my room to finish and write this. But it's a good kind of crying. I don't know why the shitposters did what they did before Mob even aired but this might truly be the best anime of all time. Wwell, top 10, it's hard to name a story the absolute best one when they're different genres. But seriously it at least fucks Madoka in the ass. You know Madoka is considered God tier because of the Homura episode and the ending but that's like 3 or 4 episodes. Just these two, Mogami + Reigen are already equal to that and in my opinion deliver even stronger gut punches since you've been attached to these characters for a while.
Fucking fuck everything these are real people I hate shitposters but I'll make sure to carry on with my life making other people watch Mob Psycho. I do. Sure it's not the most eventful arc but I like it anyway. Mob and friends trying to accomplish dumb shit (and they actually succeed), because only now they are in the time of their lives they can afford to do such things

I do. It was actually quite a fun SoL arc even though the stakes weren't high. I appreciated the focus on the Telepathy Club and Tome in particular, and it offered a nice closure for her, while resolving a really wacky plot thread that had been left hanging for dozens of chapters.

I can't tell everything in details because that'd spoil the final episode, but the first half feels like the Mogami episode, or even better than that. It really felt like the first half was 30 mins long and the second only 5. For those of you wondering if the final episode will include an eyecatch as well, it's the greatest eyecatch ever, which makes you go "holy shit there's still 15 minutes left!?"

I have a beamer at home I could use for the finale. I used it before during Mogami as you can see in pic related. However the old thing kinda broke down recently unfortunately. It still works but some green flash could now be seen on the right side of the screen it projects onto. Now I'm thinking about whether I will still use the beamer or watch it on my 24 inch screen. I would really want to experience that cinema feeling again and by the sounds of it this episode will blow Mogami away

For once the nips seem to have decent taste. It makes me happy to see a passion project as big as this get the recognition it deserves. Did anyone actually expect this season to be so good? I remember hearing that the Mogami arc was something to behold but I swear from ep 4 onwards this show leaped in quality. There's really everything here you could want, cute and wholesome romance shenanigans in episode 1, emotional character-building in episode 6 and 7, absolute god-tier action for sakugafags in episode 5, 11 and almost certainly 13. Fucking hell what a time to be alive, I just know the last ep is going to be god-tier

The Mogami arc because it almost comes from nowhere and the depths that it adds to the characters emotions was incredible. Seeing Mob truly change because of the horrible things he was put through, and seeing those changes be for the better, was amazing. Plus the animation is simply incredible.
