What made part 7 so great?

What made part 7 so great?

Relatively phenomenal main cast, outside of the main villain. Decent thematic exploration throughout the part, artfully woven into the intricate pseudo-science that Araki is infamous for incorporating into his works. On that note, the pseudo-science actually makes relative sense here, mostly because there isn't much that is contradicted by anything else in this part (at least, with regards to the core driving plot device: the "Spin"), which marks it in stark contrast with most, if not all, of Araki's previous works. The story is tightly written, with each character being relatively believable even if most of them are completely uninteresting or unnecessary (similar to LOGH, or what I've seen of it at least, in which most of the cast seems to be expendable, but each member is also decently explored), and few plot points being unnecessary or contradictory.

This isn't always the case, especially since this is Araki we're talking about. I can name a ton of idiotic plot holes and inconsistencies, the most irritating of which (to me, at least) being everything regarding Scary Monsters, but he does relatively well with this part. The world and lore, what little of each actually exist or are shown to us, are fairly fleshed out. Not to any amazing degree, but well enough to put it up to typical JoJo world building standards. Plus, as Araki seems to have proven himself quite capable of doing even in previous parts as well, he's managed to add some surprisingly nice catharsis towards the end of each major plot point and the end of the story as a whole. This is something that he does well, even in the worst of parts (3 and 6), but in SBR and VA, it's taken to a bit of a new level, as its intertwined with the theme of the story itself in a rather intriguing or artful manner.

The fights were total fucking garbage, though. All aside from the Gyro/Johnny v Valentine fight, which is by far my favorite in the entire series. The rest were terribly forgettable.

The fact that Gyro dies made it 10/10

Nothing. The first half was shit like any other jojo part and the only good part was the ending.

Bros, I don't understand how spin works.
Why doesn't Gyro just use a gun?

A gun could have never reached Valentine unlike spin.

Tl;dr lol

>This is something that he does well, even in the worst of parts (3 and 6), but in SBR and VA

You had me till there.

>Bros, I don't understand how spin works.
Physics.

Hmmmm let's see here

>best jojo
>best jobro
>best villain
>best setting
>high quality stands
>protag has a stand that evolves while he grows as a character
>successfully combined the portions of JJBA that focused on hamon and on stands into one package
>soft reboot
>art is better here than in all its predecessors
>perfect mix of both drama and levity

It came after the shittiest part.

But it's not part 4.

Because it was part 6.

>Mandom fight
>forgettable

this

Part 6 was great though

Well technically yeah, but all the other parts come after part 1 too so that's not really saying much.

I'd disagree with him that 3 and 6 are the worst parts, but how he describes the endings are pretty accurate. What's your beef with it? I thought the SBR review was pretty good.

the Journey.

part 3 did it better

>The fights were total fucking garbage
Not a flaw.SBR isn't written for 10 year olds

Gyro.

part 3 was trash though

The whole corpse part shit with Jesus was all fun and games but other than that I really couldn't get into part 7.

Best premise
Best protagonist
Best deuteragonist (who's also a fucking Zeppeli)
New secret art
Likable supporting cast of rival characters
Cool MacGuffin(s)
Best ending since Part 4

America

>Part 6 was great though
SBR exists because part 6 was a fucking mess user.

>New secret art
What

Why couldn't Valentine just pick up the gun?

The previous one were so bad it ended up looking great by comparasion, even if it is just ok at best

Spin, duh.

You guys ever wonder what was going on in the non-prime worlds? Like what were the Lucys doing when prime Lucy was out of commission possessed by the corpse? Why did Johnny want diamonds so much to go through what prime Johnny did for the corpse? How did Dio get a stand when the way prime Dio got a stand was the corpse?

>the characters' growth and emotional journeys. >the shifting between hectic horse race and solemn wilderness living where time almost seem to stand still.
>a great villain you could see yourself rooting for if circumstances were different.
>the shift to monthly releases allows for more serious and nuanced storytelling instead of squeezing dramaturgical functions onto mere 20 pages
>the evolution of Araki's art style that perfectly fits the tone

It's a flaw when there's a fight in every single arc

Part 7 is kino af

>Best protagonist
but Giorno was in Part 5
