Kemurikusa is my AOTS as well. Wataten almost had it with that cute musical, but Tatsuki's magic is unbeatable. Amazon preorders agreed.
The Tatsuki Kemono Friends anime, yes. It's a slow start that gets better and better every episode, though some would contest that episode 8 was a dip in overall quality. The ending is incredible, and makes you feel absolutely happy. Just avoid season 2; as someone who bit the bullet and chose to watch it, it fucking sucks. 11 episodes and it just now has some kind of actual conflict. It's the exact opposite.
Kemurikusa had more intriguing and better crafted world actually made by Tatsuki from the start instead of someone else's world 'fixed' to be Kemurikusa light, more focused story and much better buildup to finale even if the animation was lacking at the end.
Don't get me wrong, KemoFure was fun but Kemurikusa actually shown what Tatsuki storytelling looks like when he has full control.
Also helps a lot that the story was actually finished instead of getting forever stuck in 'what could have been' limbo. Fuck Kadokawa

This, I've always felt his style in KF1/KK is a part of their charm, not a limitation. I feel pretty strongly on this point, it's sufficiently different from what you'd typically expect out of an anime that it feels refreshing and unburdened. The voice directing in KF is the same, there's a great emphasis on using newbie voice actresses and avoiding many established anime character speech patterns and vocal tones, at least in the first part. I was curious about this and discussed it with a native japanese friend of mind and she agreed, she said "They don't sound like 'anime characters'" and that she liked it.

It might be possible to fit it better if the text is scaled up or the star scaled down by a few pixels but otherwise it looks great.

The star was already scaled down from the original, and if the text gets any larger it's just going to stick out even further. There's no good solution unless I'm just dumb and a better typesetter has already figured it out.
