I don't see the point of a Mist ending. Everyone dying wouldn't be thematically or emotionally satisfying, which is what really makes an ending good and not whether it's unexpected or predictable.
Also, most of the still living characters are slated for death anyway. Unless the curse of Ymir is broken somehow, everyone other than Mikasa, Jean, Connie, and Historia is guaranteed to die early. And some of those may not survive either. So it's not like there's a lack of death.

The previous FTs could turn people into titans just fine from what we know, and Karl Fritz certainly didn't use serum on half a million of his subjects to turn them into CTs. yes, eren did. he even said he delayed releasing the information because he was worried of what was going to happen to historia. this was revealed by eren during the meeting with kiyomi. zeke didn't reveal the master plan of touching a titan with royal blood so they didn't know if they could trust him. thats when eren revealed how to activate the rumbling.

That's actually a really cool explanation. We now know that Zeke was lying about the way he turned Ragako's inhabitants into titans, but the part about being connected to him through a path established by them receiving his spinal fluid was most likely true to an extent. Every royal blood who becomes a shifter most likely can reproduce a small-scale, limited version of the FT's power.
