Looks like you haven't been paying attention to the series. That's exactly what's happening. Souma is gonna defeat Asahi's bullshit powers with his bullshit "cook for the person you love" and go up against Erina in the final, where both of them will realize their love for each other and Erina will finally say his food is delicious and admits defeat. After that there will be an epilogue and the series will be done.

Soma and El Hermano are going at it, but before any of them can bring out their dish the match gets interrupted. Nakiri's mom explains that this tournament was to prepare the chefs for the final shokugeki against an alien invader. Now El Hermano and Soma will be forced to join knives together with the elite chefs that serve the world leaders in order to fight this new threat.

There is only one path and this is the winning of Soma, there isnt another. The pacing, the second match vs the principal antagonist of the series (before the protagonist was humillated by that retard and finish on the garbage), Erina is crazy and fucking depressed, if Soma lose this Erina will be defeating so it is impossible, the goal of Soma is win the Blue because the bet what he did to his dad on the bleach, not to solve the shit family problems of the Nakiris.
Soma will win this, there is no important how impossible and witgout sense it is because the bullshit power ups Tsukuda give to that retard of Asahi. He will do the plot of the love power or the power of the flashbacks of his mother and he will destroy him... The revenge it is obvious, the more obvious thing in the entire serie

In order to face Soma's long lost brother that got abducted they have no choice but to unleash an even more dangerous chef onto this world, Soma's long lost little sister that is obsessed with Soma and plans on using this tournament to win the somabowl.

I started reading the manga because I've heard about El Hermano and I want to experience the shitstorm with you (and I have nothing on my backlog right now so I'm free to pick up something new). The first thing I noticed is how much better the anime looks. Isn't the general trend that the manga has better and more detailed artwork than the anime? Maybe it changes later on, but right now the manga only emphasizes how good the anime (at least the first season) was by comparison.

Real shit: Soma defeats El Hermano only because of the promise he did to Jou. Then he forfeits the tournament, and then flashforward to the ending. Soma marries the girl he had better interactions and spent together the most.

When the hell is this manga over, so that the sequel, Shokugeki no Megumi can begin? New author, new chef consultant, new editors, new magazine. The first arc should begin with flashbacks of all the places she powered up her hospitality.

Place your bets on the "cooking" this or next chapter will have. Because it's clear they don't have a consultant anymore.

It'll be the usual flashy moves with an underwhelming dish.

Apparently she got pregnant and stopped working with Tsukuda, but nothing has been confirmed. Though the lack of dishes is proof that something is going on, whether she quit or got fired or no longer cares about the series herself.

Not really surprising since everything is super rushed and disjointed. Tsukuda is clearly packing a bunch of different major plotlines into one arc so he's probably rushing to meet the deadline they gave him.
