Watching seasonal ruins the industry

If you keep up with the seasonal BS you are telling producers that the trash they put out is okay.
Watch shows that deserve watching, don't watch trash just to keep up.

>Watch shows that deserve watching
such as?
>don't watch trash just to keep up
>implying people watch it for the content and not for mocking it
my dear boy, have you ever heard of the 2015 US election?.

Yes, because anime producers pay attention to how much I'm pirating a show.

ok mom

lmao ok retard. let me just watch eva lain and texhnolyze 5000 times and i'll be as epic as u

>implying watching anime for free tells producers anything
Are you retarded?

Eva was seasonal retard and so are most anime made, now kill yourself.

>2015 US election
They only elect governors during those years. Who cares?

Producers don't give a fuck about Gaijin for now. The real reason you want to explore past seasonal shit is because seasonal anime generally sucks massive dick. There are COUNTLESS great anime that should be on your backlog. Learn about the history of anime, become literate.

How many levels of ESL are you on if you think what people are complaining about is distribution model instead of the practice of only watching current year stuff?

>he doesn't know
never lurk /pol/ or any political board, newfriend, for your own safety

>i-it doesn't count if I like the series

>Foreigners consuming anime without spending a penny on it somehow influence producers to make more of it
Are you serious or just pretending to be retarded?

Become literate.

>If you keep up with the seasonal BS you are telling producers that the trash they put out is okay.
But I am okay with that. The fact that it upsets deepfags is just the cherry on top.

>you have to be a deepfag to not be a seasonalfag

Yesteryears schlock is a lot of fun too.

Attached: IMG_1676.jpg (320x240, 26K)

you said 2015 you retard

This

Yes,i said that,what's the problem?

If you're okay with what you've self-styled as "trash", you need to kill yourself

Because if you knew English you would use appropriate English words like "current" or "airing" rather than ones that refer to the distribution model. You stupid faggot.

But mob psycho 100, Jojo's bizarre adventure, and dororo are seasonal rn AND worth watching, filthy asukafag

>implying producers even care about online viewership

>asuka poster
into the trash it goes

If you can't enjoy trash, that's a you problem, not an anyone else problem.
There were DEEP, DEEP PILES of trash being produced in the 80s and 90s, and not even all of them were straight to video OVA
But during that same period many classic, fantastic anime were being produced and released as well
The industry has proven it's able to supply trash and art to those who want either or both, and if you think I'm going to skip out on some hot trash like Killing Bites then you've got a fucking hole in your brain

If you have some level of filter on your shows and are watching quality and not just whatever's out than this post isn't about you, loser.

The problem isn't with watching something that's airing right now, it's with watching something BECAUSE it's airing right now.

Every show came out at some season at some point.

>pirating shows for free ruins the industry
Who knew?

I didn't read word you typed on account of you being an asukafag

Reminder that the anime industry is dying as a whole (I wager it's mostly being eaten by mobage) and only foreigners are keeping the industry afloat.

Also, apropos of nothing, I tried to buy a full BD set for a completely dead series and given that it's been in 取り寄せ for a month I don't think Animate is ever going to send it to me. Sad.

>the problem is people that like anime
No, the problem is fags like you that insist on posting about how much you don't like anime. Even shounenfags with their shit taste are better than that, because at least they shit up Yea Forums talking about anime they like instead of bitching and whining about it.
Fuck off and kill yourself cunt.

If people stop consuming bad new anime then making anime would become unprofitable altogether. And the industry would be competing with itself from the past

What could become is that new anime is only made by mega productions that can stand up to the masterpieces of the past in an ever increasing self competition

I'm not just okay with it: I like it. And the less you like it the more I like it.

nobody who doesn't pay to support the series they do like should be allowed to complain about people ruining the industry

I've seen anons argue that unless you watch EVERY show every season, to completion, you have no right to criticize the show or call yourself an anime fan. In seriousness. I can't fathom watching every garbage show just because every 1/1000 shows might break the mold or be something I like outside of my preferences.

but user how will i know if a show is worth watching or not unless i watch it????

>Taking time to respond
>acting like you didn't read shit even though you wasted a minute sending

I already told you you are fine, nerd, this thread ain't about you, you are gucci

This sort of mentality is the idea I'm criticizing. Watching to fill a quota or to be in on something. Being selective will not only improve your experience of anime watching, it would also mean only the shows you care about are getting your "vote" either by spreading them, talking about them, or buying merch related to them.

I don't know about other anona, but with the very few exceptions, the 3 episode rule (or an appropriate portion if it's a longer running show) generally works for me. I honestly can't remember the last show I liked after not liking the first 3 episodes. Maybe Brotherhood?

Why would I watch shit that doesn't interest me in the first place. Not all seasonal anime is bad, although most is.

>This sort of mentality is the idea I'm criticizing
You're wasting your time them because it's a mentality that only a tiny minority of autists even pretend to have.

If it works for you sure. I usually go by clips and trailers and what I feel like watching. Whatever works.

The being in on something probably affects a lot of people who missed Naruto, Bleach and other big properties as they aired and want to be part of something bigger than themselves in one way or another. I feel like it's why shows, such as DitF were really hot until it became glaringly obvious that it would not be remembered (like being the next NGE) and people move on to hopefully a more successful show.

Nigger how does Yea Forums affect the industry? Most of us pirate that shit.

No one cares what you think. Selling anime doesn't keep the industry afloat anyway, it's merchandising.
That's autistic but there's a point made in it. If you are insistent that the vast majority of anime is garbage beneath watching, you must admit you don't really like anime that much. Those people are weeding out the dilettantes who are just hear to discuss whatever is hip or some shit, I give them that much to keep this board from being a casual shithole.

>If you are insistent that the vast majority of anime is garbage beneath watching, you must admit you don't really like anime that much.
People who like books can freely admit that 90% of books are shit, why is anime different?

This.

Why are you telling us? anime is targeted for japanese viewers first and foremost.

Rei falseflagger. Asukabros aren't this stupid.

Let's be honest, a lot of people don't want to bother shifting through shitloads of stuff (plus it's pretty much impossible to so "90% of everything is shit" rationalizes our desire to avoid this. Life is short, just gimme the good shit. The thing is with it's usually people who read classics, who read best of the medium lists, "deepfags", whatever you call it who say this. People with a more specified taste are less likely to state that, or are least more likely to have informed opinions of their genre due to an active interest in it spurring them to entertain lots of it. Even people with a broad interest may not entertain as much material of a specific genre, but may be interested enough to entertain lots of different things. It's like the difference between /m/ and Yea Forums, a (predominately) mecha anime/manga enthusiast board and a general anime/manga enthusiast board. People with the "90% of everything is shit" mentality usually aren't enthusiasts (or otaku) of the medium itself. Some certainly are, they've earned a more legitimate right to say that, but like I said, for most it isn't specifically x that they really like, it's the so-called "good shit" among x. The rest can just burn for all they care.

I don't think comparing books to anime is apt. Two different mediums, one is which is significantly older than the other. Plus anime specifically refers to Japanese animation, and as most of us are gaijin, we have limited access to it. Nonetheless we have dedicated communities to making a lot of anime accessible to filthy gaijin, especially currently airing anime. Props to them because you'd have to be enthusiastic to even bother. Anyway there is a case to be made that if you find little anime worth watching, your fire isn't very hot. Anyone can have their reasons, but it's damaging to have people who only care about "good shit" on one side and "popular shit" on the other, leaving everything else to the wayside.

Attached: 1490995962967.png (1280x720, 479K)

Plus, it leads to more biased and ill-informed fans. If you're worried about taste, shouldn't you develop it through trial? Then you can make informed judgments on the quality and make arguments on why people should heighten their standards. If you're just telling them it's shit, they can just flip you off and they're right too because it's all for our enjoyment in the end.

Producers doesn't care about gaijins who pirate anime.

Seasonalonlyfags are the biggest normalfaggots who only watch anime for "the discussion" and "the community".

If you actually watched anime for anime's sake you'd explore different time periods.

DarliFra is literally a masterpiece but I wish less people would have watched it.
The threads were a fucking disaster since episode 3

Holy fucking cringe

>and only foreigners are keeping the industry afloat
foreigners means chinese, the west is irrelevant to anime

I keep up with whatever I like.

Media companies use data from torrents to research trends in popularity. How did you not know this?
