Manga started out a 10/10, now more like a 7/10.

Anime started out solid, quickly became bad. Sold 700 copies so S2 probably isn't happening. Welp.

The story's climax should have been the orphanage escape. Everything after that was just bland.

Goldy Pond wasn't too bad but for some reason Shirai decided the time for real stakes/drama was AFTER the gigantic battle.

Big battle with 5 demons: 4-5 people seriously wounded but no one dies.

1 regular human with a name tag and 5-6 mooks: like a half a dozen dead kids from the nobody-ville farm, but naturally, no one from Grace Field because we might care.

Everything after that has been pretty boring.

I could deal with the change in setting and the new characters if there were still lots of planning and tension like in the orphanage arc. There's no more keikaku. Emma got stabbed but revived herself with literal Fairy Tail shonen powers. There are now superhumans that can easily kill demons. Ray is irrelevant and Norman somehow survived, taking down plants by himself and an army. This should have ended when it was still interesting goddammit

The real problems with Goldy Pond:

>Muh friends powerup in a series that up to that point was all about how the humans were hideously outclassed by demons physically, much less for human kids
>Posuka, as good of an artist as she is- is not very good at paneling and especially not good at paneling and dynamic action with a real sense of motion. 95% of her pre-manga art basically has the feel of a diorama and is beautiful but has no sense of motion (no, fisheye effect does not count)
>Leuvis is the only demon with a relatively satisfying fight/death, with the rest getting a bare moment before being utterly clowned.
>"The plan" is pretty boring this time around.

The real problems with everything else after that:

In a series where it's mostly internal monologues, cutting out internal monologues and then adding stupid filler is objectively a mistake. And to say otherwise would be true contrarianism. Also characters yelling out their thoughts in the anime makes no sense and makes them look even more retarded in the manga where those were just in their heads.

anime is decent. adaptaion wise, its dog shit. manga is only good until the escape. the recent chapters are the only somewhat interesting parts SINCE the escape.

It's kind of meh. I like some of the character such as Emma and Norman, and it has a nice layer of atmosphere to it. The premise is pretty cool. However I absolutely hated Sister Crone. Way too over the top for me to take seriously. The dancing. The doll. I hated that shit. Character "deaths" drag on for too long. Too many CUHRAZY faces. I'm disappointed in how it turned out..

This is unrelated but what are the spoiler policies on/a/? I'm always afraid to go into any anime thread because someone might spoil something from the manga.

This manga has reminded me to stop giving chances to long, maintream shounens, they drew out the escape arc too long and never matched the beginning chapter.
Isabella's character kind of brought things up a bit but none of the characters have anything worth caring about and I just don't care anymore about seeing little kids taking down demon's anymore.
I stopped (aswell as ceased caring) at the end of the goldie pond arc.
From skimming spoiler posts I'm glad I didn't continue this.

I read the manga and I really like it. The goldie pond arc was meh. Everything after that was really interesting to me though because I like learning about the world. I don't know how to feel about norman coming back. On one hand he's my favorite character but I don't think he should've escaped without repercussions

I don't hate it. I thought the premise was interesting when it started. But from there onwards it gone downhill. It was just simply boring and unexciting and absolutely nothing happened for several episodes.
