I love all of the subtle things in this entire show. It just shows how much thought, effort, and love they put into the whole thing. You can watch it at a superficial level and enjoy it, or go really into depth and see all sorts of "whoa" connections being made.
I enjoyed when Shiro was on the boat and they asked what place this is. He answers "Here? Inside ship" and the viewer thinks "Yea, no shit he's on a boat" when he really meant the entire place is a ship.

Coming from someone who doesn't have the same negative bias as most people: it really is a heavily watered down version of S1 as expected. Watch it if you want to see new Friends and the new chubbier models, but don't expect anything as great as what made you love S1. That said, episodes 10 and 11 were better than the other ones, 11 a bit less so.

Rin is definitely the central character, but one thing I really like is that even though you can stereotype her as a tsundere, she's much more than that. She's a full fledged character right from the beginning and her relationship with Wakaba is something added on top of everything else that's going on and eventually leads back into tying these aspects of her character together and fulfilling her arc.
