Part 6 is so full of unrealized potential. Jolyne was very likable until she "steeled her nerves" and just became girl Jotaro. Hermes would be an awesome character if she ever did anything besides yell and be angry. Does the bitch ever SMILE? Her Stand ability is a lot more nuanced and realized than her. Same with Annasui, one-note character that at least has a creative Stand ability. It's bad when Weather Report and the main villain Pucci are the best character.
Part 6 would be perfect if it just had as good characterization as like, say, Part 4.

The problem is she is pretty much irrelevant and disappears from the story a lot. She barely participates when she comes back. I can't believe that she always depicted as the Brojo considering Weather Report was a lot more helpful and important to the story. Hermes just had that she could hang out with Jolyne more.

The cast is easily the worst of the series. Ermes is fun but doesn't stand out much. FF is okay but isn't that funny and her death is the only memorable thing about her. Emporio is fine but barely around, only really standing out at the end and not because of his own merits. Weather Report is the worst, being a bland character and only truly showing up for one arc and then is great in his final arc but it's too little too late. Anasui is a weak character outside of being comic relief, with one of the weakest motivations of any main character.
The minor antagonists aren't that great either. Actually, scratch that. They are terrible. Only Versace and Rykiel are exceptional and there's only like 2-3 more that are above average. The rest are trash.
The Stands have some unique powers but they're not utilized in fun or interesting ways. Bohemian Rhapsody, Dragon's Dream, Green Green Grass of Home are fun ideas, but their fights are boring and never did anything cool. Then you have Stands like Planet Waves, Marilyn Manson and Jumpin' Jack Flash which aren't interesting and are used in boring ways. The vast majority of Part 6's fights are either bad or mediocre.

The story suffers from poor progression and motivation. It tries to make the arcs flow together by having Whitesnake's discs contain information they need but it's so random that it doesn't feel like they deserve it or figuring things out, but that whenever they reach a point where they need to figure things out, the enemies give them the info they need. This is more a problem with the first third, the second third is the maximum security portion which has better progression (but still a slog) and the last third is also better, but not much better because it's mainly characters sensing each other.
The MC motives aren't the best. Only Jolyne, Emporio and WR have good motives, but WR is barely involved and his motive is only revealed at his end. Emporio's is barely involved and his motive barely matters. Jolyne's is good, but because Jotaro is so far removed and her relationship with Jotaro isn't handled that well, it isn't the best. Their relationship has fantastic set-up but when it comes to developing it... I see what Araki was going for, having Jolyne relate to her father and understand him by going through a similar, even harsher ordeal, but they are separated for so long that it feels cheap. They don't reconcile through working out their problems together and fixing their relationship, but by Jolyne going on an adventure and then being okay with her dad. It doesn't work.
Jolyne was very likeable and stayed so. Hermes is an awesome character and had just enough time to shine. If you want secondary characters taking spotlight from protagonist, go read Golden Piss you fag. >Does the bitch ever SMILE? Does the OP-fag ever read the manga? Jolyne is a top tier jojo. Easily beats out most other MCs in characterization along with a sick ability.
Foo Fighters is definitely one of the more interesting ideas, and I wish Araki did more things like this or at least more animal stands. Seriously such a great fight and one of my favorite reveals in the series.
