i don't see why the fact that each episode is only a little over 20 minutes long means the lore cant be shown properly. it would take time over the course of the season to develop the lore with bits shown here and there and slowly building on each previous lore piece shown. its kind of the same for a movie actually, sure you now have more time to info dump, but that too is shit writing. a movie with lore to show would still pace it out properly not that differently from how a series would and only bring in pieces when its relevant and adds something to that part of the story

The first cour of the show had a great feel to it. Really comfy, slice-of-life stuff yet the overarching story regarding the Shiny Rod and Chariot inevitably having to tell Akko the truth kept it pretty interesting.

If the 2nd season is anything like the first cour or any of the OVAs it would have more potential for things the second cour was lacking in like giving certain characters more screen time.

Also the whole "save the world" plot later in the show did feel a bit too "grand" compared to what the show was earlier on. The first cour did a lot of things right and the second cour felt like it was kind of straying away from that. It still did have good things about it though.

There are loads of characters and it would be great if they were actually explored at all, this show has a lot of potential but it doesn't feel like they're trying to live up to it.

LWA is fucking dead and its their own fault. Just give up begging for another season, it will never happen.

You know what they say, that people should separate the fanbases from the shows. My guess is that it was an aborted arc. You can get a glimpse of it when Akko finally manages to fly only after she gets her hat back, it was like a symbol of her becoming a complete witch again after Chariot's reveal and her following depression. But in the end Andrew's role amounted to nothing during the magic missile crisis.
