Well yeah. They are poking fun at those types of protagonists, but it feels as hollow as bashing the Disney Princess concept at this point. There are numerous flaws with the archetype and how they're handled, but sometimes it just feels like all of the good is stripped out to make the actual protagonists look good and cool by comparison whole the archetypes either suffer as buffoons or have the MCs wipe their asses for them when they mess up.
