Because time moves onward and some of Kyoto Animations recent works are garbage. They can animate yes but you also need this thing called a good premise/story/writing.

It doesn't. Like many popular things, they are massive divides: one side is obnoxious dicksuckers, the other is obnoxious hateshitters. The latter have grown louder due to the greater amount of Yea Forumseddit trash on this board and the fact KyoAni works haven't been consistently good in ages.

I haven't watched any of those, are they worth watching? The KyoAni works I've watched were Chuu2 and Koe no Katachi. I never finished Chuu2 because I loet interest and Koe no Katachi was kinda stupid

Yes they’re worth watching, along with K-ON and Hyouka. Really anything KyoAni from 2012 and earlier is worth a watch. Their later works not so much.

This honestly. I also hate how all their recent works after Phantom World happened have become melodramatic. Even Kobayashi-san, I was looking forward to cute comedy with cute girls, but the pace would often break for some weird ass dramatic moment where one of Tohru's friends would go like

The last episode is the epitome of wasted potential. So, you decided to have Tohru's dad in Kobayashi's world who is this all-mighty elder dragon to whom a human life is a spek. The entire episode ended up being 20 minutes wankfest about how KOBAYASHI STRONK as they talked some complete bullshit, like, fuck man, who gives a shit? How about go for unexpected turn and present Tohru's dad as someone who genuinely wants to reason with his daughter and be like "Tohru, I am not fucking off until I see what you see in these people" and does mundane shit like walk Kanna to school. In fact, take it one step further, have him trying to learn what Kanna sees in going to school and sit in class with her, the comedy writes fucking itself.

But nope, gotta do some bullshit dragon PTSD and Kobayashi will die and jesus christ, there is not a single Kobayashi episode that didn't drop the ball on that for me.

I don't hate kyoani, i recognize their work, they are the best in what they do, they can create melodrama and moe like no other studio can, for me it's ok to watch one of their shows from time to time but it's not really my favourite thing since they usually lack of plot and etc etc but it's really stupid to hate them, they are successful and talented.

I haven't truly enjoyed anything from Kyoani since Chuunibyo S1. I watch every new show and think they're well done, but is like something is missing.

I don't hate them, they're just not as good as they used to be. The only thing I've enjoyed from them since Nichijou was the first season of Hibike. Their animation is still amazing, they just need to stop wasting their talent on adaptations of mediocre source materials.

1. The fanbase on Yea Forums is really terrible, full of obnoxious folks and intolerant fans who can't accept criticism (even constructive ones) while at the same time blindly praising even their turkeys
2. The quality of their shows in recent years has been mixed at best. Some like Hibike, Maid Dragon, and Amagi have been really good, but others like Phantom World, VEG, or Tsurune have been disappointing.
3. To some extent, it's jealously. For the longest time, KyoAni shows were always of a high standard and their series never flopped, so fans of other studios could only help but wish that their favorite studio's shows could do just as well and have the same level of praise.
