This was true for the first half of the season. Now she just steals scenetime from better characters. I hope she goes back to her old job, or dies fall all I care.
Her VA is top-tier, no debate about that, but if you evaluate her character progression you have to come to the conclusion that Natsume throw her away because he lost all interest into her and concentrates on his other fleshed out one. Sure he has to keep her in the story and she has to do stuff sometimes to pleasure her fanclub.

If you love Aqua just enjoy konosuba yourself and ignore other people's opinion. Her role is more like a mc than a heroine to me. Thank to her I always had a good laugh. There are people who are completely into romance and see her as a burden. She isn't a part of the story's romance after all. But if you came to Konosuba for the fun, it's just fine to stay as her fan. Though I love Aqua, I've never felt pity for her and always find it's amusing to see her getting bullied lol.
