I think they could've split the difference and included a lot of the important inner monologues. Some of the bits were pretty effective in silence. Some were I think pretty critical, both in terms of explaining what the fuck is going on and how the kids thought of stuff and some emotionally.

Emma and Norman after they met in the infirmary after her leg was broken was a really powerful moment in the manga because Posuka managed to show her utter panic and existential terror at the knowledge of Norman's pending death- and Norman finally breaking down because he's just a little kid and really really doesn't want to die- just repeating in his head "I want to live! I want to live! I want to live!" was a pretty legitimately heartbreaking scene for a Weekly Jump manga. I get leaving that silent- but it would've been more affecting if you could hear internally how much his facade totally broke.

It was like that in the manga too and it didn't bug people too much- it'd be the final episode so after you got over Ray not being dead you'd get hooked right into the real escape attempt/Emma hacking her ear off/etc.

I would've cut it more like a movie-

>Emma starts for Ray
>Cut to a shot from outside the house, backed up enough from the windows where you can't see details; and you just hear a muffled "fwoosh" and the windows light up

they intentionally left the toddlers/babies behind after letting Phil know what's up because he's smart enough to understand- with the intent of coming back for everyone in 2 years (the earliest any of the kids can be shipped out).

It gave us too much information too quickly. We should never have had POV from any of the adults, never should have known what they were thinking or what their motivations were. The state of the demon world/human world split shouldn't have been revealed yet, way too soon. William Minerva wasn't a mystery for long enough. The only mystery left is who the unnamed demon is, but it's too fucking obvious it's the demon leader. Also who is in control of the demons isn't an interesting mystery. The best parts of the manga were when it wasn't clear what the fuck was going on.

The writing wasn't as clever as it could have been. They should've been comparing stars with star catalogs they had in the library, taking measurements of the sun's inclination and found out that the measurements were incompatible with them being on Earth. Or maybe the measurements would have been compatible, which would have made things even stranger, but still easily explainable down the line.

Another point I'm sore on is that they ditch a large cast of characters only to run into a large cast of characters. It's dumb Then of course there is the dumb shonen-style fights, which get even worse with the introduction of those experimented-on characters.
