This is where we have to consider something closely. If you believe the author is a hack, then EH isn't a thing, all that development was filler, and the author tossed some rando- into the mix for no other reason then to put a baby in Historia's belly.

If however you think the author is better at writing then some random 12yo fanfic writer, then the farmer is a false flag. Historia's whole life is tightly regulated and watched, the people watching her admitted her choice of a father for her child was her own. So they weren't keeping her under SUPER TIGHT observation. It appears to me if you read the story as the author wrote it, that the Farmer is a false flag to hide the parentage of the baby. That Historia and Eren made that child before he left on his time skip.

You mikasa-fags can continue to believe the author is a hack fanfic tier writer, but I chose to believe he has the basics of good writing down pat. And all that buildup for historia as a character and her relationship with Eren weren't just to pad out the story, but were "chekov's gun", and is the foundation for a later revelation that the baby's Eren's.
