However fresh water lakes only stay fresh water lakes because they're constantly expelling salt water into streams which eventually go into the ocean (or salt water lakes)
if the oceans drained then fresh water lakes would drain into nothing or small salty lakes
Fresh water lakes must be refurbished with water, which mainly comes from rainfall
However with decreased amount of water in general there would be less rainfall in general dwindling the fresh water lakes further

That means even the fresh water lakes would start to disappear and possibly dwindle to nothing if the oceans evaporated
Perhaps a few small areas could form a self sustaining microsystem but I find that unlikely
It would be easy for the rain clouds to drift away depriving the fresh water lake of its source of renewal

They said there's no oceans but perhaps they instead of extremely large lakes in order for some semblance of an ecosystem to sustain itself. Nah dude, this was pretty exceptional. I might get shit for saying this but I think the visual direction in this show is some of the best we've had in a while. Frankly, lots of conventionally animated shows could take notes from it. Every scene has been energetic and engaging - even when we're just watching characters talk they manage to find ways to spice it up. The fight scenes have been top class the whole way through as well. If you're going to have action in your CG anime, this is the way to do it. This show wasn't just our usual run of the mill military otaku bait.
I think it was a real gem.

All that aside, it sets an excellent benchmark for other studios using CG animation. Being 3D didn't hold back this show one bit, and since the style seems to be here to stay, I think we can at least hope that future shows strive for this level of production quality.

It does get higher or lower by some minuscule amount since it's not exactly equal but it's so large and covers so much of Earth the amount of salt in the ocean generally represents the salt distributed equally

4, Zero, 7.

4 has the best story in the franchise on top of gameplay that is foundational to post-AC3 ace combat games.

Zero has unique Ace Squadron fights that are the best in the series.

7 is the latest title and has the best flight model by miles and huge battles. Suffers from development hell meaning multiple story rewrites, but AC8 is gonna be great thanks to the success of 7.

After 7, play 2 to see where the root of everything in the series came from plus some 90s flair. Then 3 for a weird cyberpunk setting and the best tunnel run in the series.

Ignore people who tell you AC5 is a good game, and stay the hell away from Assault Horizon, it's hardly even an ace combat game.

Ace Combat X is also a good one, but leave it til last. It's basically the slower, weightier flight model from 4 combined with the more agile and quicker missile flight model from later games. Add in some really aggressive AI, and its probably the most punishing and toughest game in the series. It also has a neat branching mission system that I'd love to see return, alongside aircraft customization. And the voice acting is so bad its good tier.

Actually just ask more shit about the AC series, it's fucking amazing.

Yeah, so it’s great if you’re a teenager just getting into the “war is bad m’kay” thing.

The characters and story are initially dynamic and interesting, but as the plot unfolds it gets more and more full of holes, and the characters never develop.

The dialogue makes me cringe the further into the game I get. The “MUH PEACE” drivel constantly spewing from every character is just frustrating to listen to in the context of the story.

As to the story: again, initial plot is interesting and there seems to be a cool hidden mystery in the background, but when its unmasked it is less than satisfactory. The villains’ motivations are incredibly boring and one dimensional. Again, all this works perfectly if you’re a teenager, which is when most people played AC5. It’s just really immature and unsubtle, and it followed 04, which actually has a legitimately good story. Like, you wouldn’t be embarassed recommending AC04 to a friend new to the series, but 5 might make them laugh or cringe.

The game is also packed with more gimmick missions than any other ace combat game, but honestly that doesn’t bother me too much, because a lot of them focus on pure piloting skill instead of just combat.

Overall YMMV. It has the same flight model and thus combat feel as Zero, which is great, but I just hate the story and characters.

I can elaborate on the strengths of post-AC04 Project Aces writing, and why Zero was the perfect game for the team once the staff got shook up after 04, if you want.

6 has the best and largest fights in the franchise full stop, but suffers from a mediocre attempt to recreate the magic behind 04’s story with 5 and onward’s writing team, just like 7.

AC3’s flight model is more realistic than the others but something about 7 feels better to play.

I suppose you're not wrong, but I sort of expect that all AC games are going to have super cheesy stories anyway, after 4 atleast, so 5 doesn't really stand out to me that much except in that it had the misfortune of having to follow up 4. 5 had its own cool moments as well and personally I somewhat liked the gimmick missions because the overall game was long enough that they were just a nice change of pace. I definitely still think the game is worth recommending.

Speed, mostly. Pusher propellers mean that the fuselage and control surfaces are in undisturbed air, while also reducing flow separation due to the propeller's suction. It also allows for greater visibility and uninterrupted gunfire, and it's great for stability if you're making something like a flying wing i.e. the XB-35.

That said, it comes with difficulty taking off, overheating issues, and fucking killing you if you eject because the propeller is behind you and also fucking killing you if you crash because instead of shielding you from the ground the engine is smashing you into it.

Basically, the Shinden (and similar canarded pusher-prop designs of the era) are shit meme planes that can't even out-meme the actually good Flying Flapjack.

Also play the upcoming Project Wingman because it's like Ace Combat with less cheese and jank.

I'll chime in and say I liked 5's gimmick missions too. It felt like you had actual variety, as opposed to 4's "get X points before the time limit" spam and Zero's short campaign.
The bigger issue I had with 5 is that the lategame is easy as piss. The whole game is, really. I think most of my deaths came from running out of missiles on bombers that took like 5 missiles to kill and then crashing into them by accident trying to gun them down and they still didn't die.

Either way you're kind of stuck playing 5 if you want to get the most out of 0.

They both have the same amount of sweep angle. And the 262s angle of sweep doesn't affect its performance at all due to how shallow it is, it was swept more to keep the engines balanced. If you're being hit by 20mm or even 30mm fire you have much bigger problems to worry about that a minor charge detonation. Like your entire plane suffering a rapid disassembly.
And a prop blasting charge is only big enough to blast off the props so it's not exactly going to take the whole front or rear of the plane off.

The Shinden did have an explosive charge to jettison the prop.

Yeah, they really did her dirty. She has by far my favorite design out of all the Kotobukis, and the early episodes seemed to be setting her up to have an interesting backstory.
