remember that episode of NS when the team first met obito and tried to fight him while he just played with them and then in the end revealed his sharingan and everyone was freaked out? good episode (though could have been way better), but that feel was there

But here's the thing, we already know the team, if you just throw some random characters we've never met and have them go through that, there isn't much purpose beyond "hey, remember when these kinds of fights were in the old show? THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW!" and that's not going to do much other than remind us about what used to happen, sometimes, and by proxy other stuff that doesn't happen anymore from around the same time.

That's the thing though SP is a shit writing studio and they couldn't do that even if they wanted to because they hard locked themselves into a corner..if they introduce a significantly OP charecter into the anime the manga has to address the issues and there's no consequences of an OP character if no one gets injured or has significant character growth. The Boruto and co we know in the anime are exactly the same as in the manga, no life changing experiences await them untill the manga is adapted I don't know why the fuck they are taking so long, even if they adapted the manga into anime RIGHT NOW they would have 66 weeks of material MINIMUM to work with that's one and one fifth YEARS and then another 24 weeks of material so you're looking at the best part of 2 years worth of material to catch up to and that's without adapting kakashi shinden and shikimaru's novel and explaining how Sarada now has 3 tomoe apparently.

This reeks of incompetance that I have to settle for an at best "meh" episode for another week because the writers refuse to shit out a good story with real threats and consequences by phoning kishimoto and getting some ideas. Here's one right off the bat, Sarada learns about what Itachi did to the Uchiha clan and confronts her father as to why he was a piece of shit, her father tells her there are two sides to every story and proceeds to Genjutsu her the entire story of itachi's life with him as her guide. Sarada later questions why this is not common knowledge and starts a campaign to get Itachi recognised as a hero, however Sasuke steps in at the last moment and reveals to her that some things are best left in the shadows as the truth could lead to a mistrust and possible coup of the village hokage for covering it up, he explains to her that sometimes the best heroes are the ones portrayed as well meaning villains, because everyone remembers fighting against evil for the same peace the villains secretly dreams of.
