Not to be a pedant but Kaori never dated Watari. She asked Tsubaki to introduce Watari to her, but they never actually went out or even interacted beyond a few times for the entirety of the anime. Which makes it all the more asinine that Kousei spent the entire series in “I’m a third wheel,woe is me”mode really.

Romance is not even the anime’s central focus. It’s primarily a coming of age melodrama.

This show is the kind I hate the most. All the ingredients are good quality and on a silver platter, but the cook(magaka) is so bad that the final product tastes worse than shit.
