Technically an optimal drift could still yield a decent cornering speed but it's bad for your wheels, relatively unpredictable and hard to pull off.
If you look at extremely tight corners the disadvantages to a drift become quite apparent, since you'll be essentially moving backwards for a time, or at least not forward at all.
Meanwhile a normal cornering strategy always has you moving forwards, even if very slowly, ready to accelerate.
Good wheels with high traction won't allow you to drift easily either, so if you can drift you cannot drive very fast or corner normally at high speeds, since you'll start to slide.
That's why drifting generally is limited to its own competition and is scored for style to large degrees.

This, if your grip is too shitty like in snow or offroad you need to rotate the vehicle and use the drive wheels power to change the actual direction of travel.

5 minutes to walk to the bus stop, 40 minute bus ride to work, 8 minutes walk from last bus stop to my job.
Same time back home.
If I had a car, I would get to work in 15 minutes, and back home again in 20-25 due to trafic.
And that's just for work. If I count in all the times I need to take the bus, I could save 2-3 hours a day just from getting a car.
