Episode 48 was nice. Was genuinely surprised.
This scene was so perfect, I couldn't have asked for a better reunion. HanaKana is an amazing voice actress.
No gentlemen, only men of deduction on two feet.
>someone beat me to the thread
Glad other people care about this show.
This was a super touching scene. They really nailed the reunion we were waiting so long for.
How has it been nearly a year already?
What the fuck is his masterplan?
Since he went that far to leave a message to Katrielle, I'm going to assume he wants her to join him and continue his legacy because he's probably her real father.
Surprised nobody has been making a compilation of her various outfits.
That's not possible unless he was going in and out of the cold sleep.
Does this episode outright state that he didn't?
Technically no, so it's still possible. The way the episode was presented makes it seem unlikely to me though.
I want a compilation of her explanations. Plus Geraldine's from ep 48.
Yeah, it's unlikely, but I think it would be a good way to resolve things by making it way more personal.
I'm kind of upset the wheat retard started bothering Emiliana in the last few episodes. I don't even ship her with anyone, but she's just too much better than him.
>It aisn't going to lick itself!
>the wheat retard
>Marina is now ten years older than Luke
Things will sure be awkward for a while.
How the fuck do you spell that guy's name by the way? Arideballon?
Aldebaran, like the constellation since he was interested in astronomy.
Literally never heard of the constellation before. That explains that one scene in the episode. I guess I'm officially an uncultured pleb now.
At least she seems to have more emotion now. I recall she looked shellshocked originally, almost soulless.
Based Luke letting the cast know they're not the only ones who can speak to Sherl.
Well, when we first saw her she was dealing with the disappearence of Luke when he got kidnapped by Don Paolo and then she herself got kidnapped and held captive for 11 years while Luke was frozen, this was the first time we were able to see her finally lighten up.
Did Luke have talking to animal powers in the games too?
Could have sworn she showed up with him in one instance and still looked like she was some sort of emotionless zombie
Yep, it was pretty much his whole selling point aside from "cute kid"
>I married a madman who talks to animals
>At least he's hung
Yes, pretty much to hax level because he can speak to any animal, not just a specific one like Kat and Ernest. His father could too.
Hm, the only scenes where they were together before now were all in the first Relics episode, in the flashbacks where Luke is keeping his distance due to working on the mystery and at the end when Layton rescues him. She's not seen in the second episode when Layton and Luke leave for the middle east and then in the third episode, Layton makes it a point to have Luke not write Marina any more letters or meet her while they carry out their last investigation to avoid putting her in danger (which happens anyway). The one time we saw her happy and carefree is when she's shown traveling with Luke while they were still in America after getting married.
I guess it's just the small pupils that make her eyes seem like she's always in shock.
Now I guess the big question is what will Level-5 do next. We know they've got a new Yokai Watch coming, but I can't imagine they're giving up on Layton even though Kat's game didn't exactly break any previous records.
It's an upgrade if you like christmas cakes.
>Finishing Kat's story in an anime
She's over. .Also I heard the guy that makes all the puzzles died so they might not want to keep making Layton games.
Doesn't mean they can't make a sequel using what occurred only in the anime.
>Also I heard the guy that makes all the puzzles died
Shit really? What did he die of?
Guy died ages ago, like a good year or so before the Lady Layton games if I'm not mistaken.
en.wikipedia.org
>He died at the age of 90 in March 2016
Holy shit. Those long lasting nip genes.
Layton's Mystery Journey was already made using different puzzle creators, that's not a concern to them. Also the Yokai Watch Shadowside anime already spoiled everything about Natsume but she's still going to be a protagonist in Yokai Watch 4 and the Inazuma Eleven Ares anime already aired, ended half a year ago and got a sequel, but the Inazuma Eleven game is still set to release.
She told him he's a failure at puzzle-solving in the previous episode so even if she somehow had a change of heart about him, papa Layton definitely wouldn't let him have her until he sharpens his skills.
She needs someone to drill her ass.
Glad I was reminded.
The final reminder...
Pretty cute.
I finally picked it back up since dreamless gave up. As expected, fuck whoever thought that fansubs needed localized names.
Whoever said they needed the localized names?
That thumbnail makes it look like she gets it from behind.
It's been over 10 years since Unwound Future's JP release and he's finally back. I almost cried at the reunion scene, christ.
That reminds me, I'm sure they'll announce/release The Unwound Future EXHD for Smartphone after the next episode like they did with the first two games after previous Layton-focused episodes. Also it looks like Curious Village is coming to Switch and that the Switch version of Mystery Journey is coming west, so even though they haven't announced a new game yet, there's lots of Layton stuff releasing.
Is Layton even her fucking dad or what?
Not biologically, her real father is currently unknown (and will remain so unless his identity is revealed in the next episode), while his mother gave birth on a sinking ship that Luke was also on and died while Luke brought baby Katrielle to safety, then Layton adopted her so he's effectively her actual father since she's been with him since birth.
