The 4th novel of the series, Cacophonous Space-Time, takes place directly after the events of the Banner of the Stars OVA, and is the only one that has been fully translated on Baka-Tsuki. Although translated, it had two different translators that varied from each other completely in style, and only the very beginning has been edited in any way.

The staff that worked on the project in the past is completely gone, so I’ve taken to trying to build a new staff from scratch. It needs a total overhaul to set it to one format, and I’ve recruited one person to help in addition to working on it myself. The work that can be immediately done is editing the existing 4th novel, but we will eventually need a translator or translators for the 5th and 6th novels.

Since the 5th (2013) and the 6th (2018) volumes have come out, the novels are finally out of hiatus, and we are nearing the end of the storyline, as Lafiel has been elevated to crown princess and next in line to the throne by this point in the story . Sekai no Senki will be completed in our lifetimes after all, and so we should continue the abandoned translation project and see it to fruition.

If anyone has any questions about how to contribute, just let me know.

With the exception of their 2D hyperspace that is probably true, most of their weapons are things we could imagine as physically possible, if not built today. Even their shields are simple magnetic systems that only really work on plasma.

there are even novels about them using chaos artfiacts. Castellan is the one I remember

LoGH has enduring popularity, even in Japan. There's stage plays and other shit that makes it profitable to keep going. Also, you'd need a ton of movies to readapt the whole thing again. 7 movies per 26 episodes if we're going by the Yamato re-adaptation, so like 30 more movies. Not to mention I haven't heard a peep after they said three more movies coming soon, which would only adapt maybe about 13 episodes worth. You'd need at least 2 more full TV cours (~50 episodes) beyond the movies if they wanted to try to condense it for modern pacing.

Any remake of this franchise is probably just going to do Crest, with maybe a sequel film.

Considering that they've been known to exterminatus the wrong planet by accident, and that it's normal for a commander to kill up to 10 million of his own soldiers to build a bridge out of their dead bodies so he'd be early for a parade (see Chenkov), probably trillions a day.

Chenkov. He's an infamous IG general. He's basically insane, and doesn't give a shit about his men. Like he once executed his whole artillery regiment when they ran out of ammo (because he'd pushed too far ahead of the supply lines). Then there's him executing his men to make a bridge out of their dead bodies for a parade, or going full Rape of Nanjing and wiping out 70% of a planet's population and industry when they were late on tithes and he was sent in to collect (turns out Ork pirates had been raiding their shipping; by basically flattening the planet, he'd guaranteed that they wouldn't be able to meet their tithes again for the next hundred years). But despite everything, he's fast because he's willing to take up to 1000% more casualties than other commanders to cut a week of campaigning off, so he gets a lot of medals from upper command (since they don't really care about Guardsmen casualties either). Back in 3E, every IG general behaved like him, though they've turned it down since then.
