The west (aka USA) ruined it for Black Clover when the first reviews came out from Comic Con International saying it was one of the worst manga if not THE worst. Later when the anime came out Crunchyroll did one of the worst things a marketing hype engine could do and overhyped the show. If that wasn't enough Studio Pierrot's atrocious pacing, animation and voice acting of the first couple episodes drove the final nail in the coffin... or so we thought
Despite it all the series is popular in most African and Asian countries, China and the Middle East particularly, compared to its contemporaries like My Hero Academia among others. it really is no wonder how Black Clover has survived up to this point. The story is in a constant state of development and strives to improve in each and every arc. It is unfortunate that a significant number of people don't know what cliches are, what tropes are, what bad writing is, and the overrating of originality.
What the current Elf saga does is that it exposes people who have misguided notions about what makes a good manga. It also harks back to a time when characters were introduced by their tropes then slowly developed into real characters over time - the opposite of the current trend where characters are introduced to be more than they seem, then given an arc where they are developed... but shunted to the wayside after their moment in the spotlight is done.
>The west (aka USA) ruined it for Black Clover when the first reviews came out from Comic Con International saying it was one of the worst manga if not THE worst. I mean they weren't wrong
Caleb Brooks
I don't care how good an arc is, the main character is literally autistic and that makes me not interested.
Brayden Murphy
idk how it survived at all.
Luke Barnes
>characters are introduced to be more than they seem, then given an arc where they are developed... but shunted to the wayside after their moment in the spotlight is done. I've no idea what you're talking about
bc pretty bad it took inspiration from terrible series like naruto and fairy tail
John Stewart
Its dub has become well liked on Toonami. Pretty much one Black Rover became the OP, opinions started to shift on it and now it’s a pretty well liked part of the block.
Charles Fisher
Asta is autistic but he's the good kind of autistic. It's hard to be mad at him
Michael Williams
>Later when the anime came out Crunchyroll did one of the worst things a marketing hype engine could do and overhyped the show. Seriously though who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
It's popular on toonami and several European countries since they have a lot of blacks, muslims and spics. The diamond kingdom arc will be key to furthering the popularity if it has good showings of the culture of diamond which appeal to those demographics.
> Pierrot abomination > Editor Kun Telling to tabata rip off Fairy Tail, Bleach AND naruto >CR garbage marketing > BNHA dabbing at BC (second movie announced) > Main heroine Is a tsundere/Mary sue trash > For Pierrot, Boruto Is a mayor prior than BC > Every new volume sells worse > Some ill fans defending Pierrot mess What went wrong?
Jonathan Fisher
you act like black clover anime is not hot garbage.
the manga is much better, though i can see why people dropped it since it took awhile to get good and its still very generic.
Nathaniel Scott
The little things Asta does like this. People shit on him irl and in-universe but the way he reacts is pretty refreshing, He's a fairly likable character overall
I'm glad he is isn't an annoying whiny shit like Naruto
Isaiah Watson
I've reviewed each episode of Black Clover, and by no means is it a masterpiece. However, I know the source material is a fantastic read. Due to that, I've stuck it out with the anime. I might not get much attention for my work with it, though hopefully more people will see what a great work Black Clover is. Also, let's hope Studio Pierrot can pull off the major battles to come. Black Clover may of had a shaky start, but a solid ending could do wonders.
You didnt even watch lol. S3 had the most sakuga of all seasons plus AM vs AFO was a masterpiece
David Cook
flashing lights and cutscenes aren't sakuga, you'll see real sakuga in 2 weeks when the bc blu ray has the asta/ladros fight.
Connor Evans
You call that sakuga? Holy shit
Gabriel Bell
Of course you don't spic. You happily sat through 7 months of Class A getting stomped by a class of kids that have no character depth beyond their quirks.
Imagine whining about how Deku is ruining everything for all of 2017 but instantly cheer Hori when he makes the alternative choices of focus just as shitty and unremarkable as o my asspull boy.
Lets get real user. BC is trash beyond salvation at this point. Do you expect good animation from Pierrot even in BDs? Dont kid yourself Thats sounds like your average hxh arc >shitty and unremarkable as o my asspull boy oh so you were talking about hxh in fact kek
its not good m8 i gave it 70 episodes and it never got good. Tropes are fine but not when they are just one line repeated over and over. I want character development and world building. What i want to know is does it ever become fun. Ill watch it if i can enjoy it. Hell i knew naruto was terrible but i could enjoy it for what it was.
