Hajime is a miracle of the universe, but i'm only about 3/4ths through the first season and having a hard time finding motivation to continue. I abhor le flamboyant molester nutjob enemies like Katz and i have fears that he will be spared the painful and permanent execution that he deserves

Just watch it nerd. At least finish the first season.

Hajime isn't a mary sue she is a mentor/paragon character sneakily slotted into the newbie protagonist slot, which is pretty unusual so the confusion is understandable.
