Also Dragonlance Chronicles, Legends and Lost chronicles. A story about a DnD game that was so fun and amazing that it continued even after the people split up due to their circumstances which is reflected in the story itself that was created. It basically forms and popularizes few character staples in fantasy, some of which come off as edgy generic isekai MCs except well written

Dumas is pretty much the nineteenth century-France equivilent of anime in the first place, but I've always thought this book in particular would translate to (probably fujo-bait) anime well. The character archetypes and the dynamics between them are very anime. Just age down everyone 10 years so they can still be somewhat bishie.
