After watching some shows everything becomes so predictable like you can even feel when a character is going to give one of those self improvement speeches, like, "i understand now! i was afraid of X thing but now im not! i've changed" -> *proceeds to defeat enemy //succeed in X shit)
After watching some shows everything becomes so predictable like you can even feel when a character is going to give...
Recognizing these patterns allows you to complete anime faster. You can skip basically half the dialogue.
You can't re-enjoy things you've experienced before?
>everything becomes so predictable
Because you watch exclusively shounen. Lurk for 2 years before posting.
>this shitty way to watch anime is the main reason for PLOTHOLES threads
Typical talk of someone who has watched 20 shows tops.
You couldn't be more wrong but well, weebs in denial i guess.
>"weebs"
That's all you needed to give yourself away. Fuck off back to where you came from.
seething i see
Moe is even more predictable and generic
watch more anime
In 5 minutes I won't be seething but you'll still be a faggot
Please don't use my wife to shitpost
>the only two types of shows are moe and shonen
damn!
>typing like a retard
>buzzowords
>complete newfaggotry
must be boring over Yea Forums
Most anime is repetitive garbage, something good only comes out like once every 5 years. I think it has something to do with the fact that elevens can't write for shit.
So you admit you are seething
Moeblob shit and shonen are the only anime airing currently.
Saying those things will make some anons angry.
i think him admitting that he's seething because someone is trashtalking the medium he enjoys, on the image board dedicated to the discussion of said medium, is less cringe than you not denying that you are a faggot
but then again we are on an anonymous image board so it doesn't really matter who feels what or who gets fucked in the ass by whatever
in any case, you won't achieve rhetorical victory here today or any time soon, go watch more anime :^)
kek'd
Well, in your hypotetical case if you think this is shitposting and you got mad over it then yes i think i won. Although it's sad to see people in such a denial state defending repetitive garbage.
Look at this faggot above for example, he got so triggered he is shitposting to get the thread deleted kek.
>implying most anime of all kinds don't have this problem
western tv is pretty bad for it too though, you only need to see a few dozen movies and tv shows and you can predict accurately how anything new you watch will go down 10-20 mins before it happens
Hear, hear, the newfag is telling other people to watch more anime. There is a very limited amount of shows that actually are well enough written to not be utterly predictable. Even something like ACCA-13, a show that was way above anime standards in regards to its narrative structure and execution, had an utterly predicatable outcome and character mechanics. Writing is bar none the weakest link in anime. If that's really what you watch this medium for then you deserve all the pity people can muster. The only reason repetitiveness isn't necessarily detrimental to ones experience is because slight adjustments to a commonly used formula can make a show/movie enjoyable despite its formulaic, generic or run off the mill nature.
Bringing up battle-"shounen" as the "type of show" that is supposed to be the most repetitive does nothing but show us how much of a newfag you actually are. CGDCT, romance and fantasy anime are significantly worse offenders.
It's not so much that shounen has more of a penchant for being predictable than other genres as it is shounen toddlers complaining arbitrarily about it much more frequently than anyone else.

If the formulas, patterns, and tropes of anime make you mad, I really don't understand why the fuck you would be watching it. You are just going to make yourself upset. Find a rec list, watch the classics, and leave forever.
Read seinen and josei manga

Welcome to Mt. Stupid of anime watching.
Welcome to basic narrative analysis.
Soon you'll understand why the kino that breaks that structure is so highly regarded, and that most seasonal anime is shit.
Rare good post, though it's a tiny bit too cynical for me.
>that breaks that structure is so highly regarded, and that most seasonal anime is shit.
Watching stuff that goes out of it's way to not be like the other stuff is even more predictable and trite.
The difference between the MOLD BREAKING KINO and the GENERIC EVIL THAT ROTS THE SOUL is that good generic stuff is good forever and the mold breaking stuff is oft pretentious self aware nonsense or balless trash written by hacks who couldn't make a decent entry into that generic stuff if they tried for a thousand years.
Think Anno can make a great generic mecha that will sell? Or the guy who did Magica can do a good entry into the magical girl genre that would do well?
Fuck no.
And both of the aforementioned piece of work are pretentious soul crushing nonsense.
>seething
>weebs
i agree with your points OP but please, leave forever.
>kino
c'mon user.
Shounen watchers don't complain about shonen.
People who detest shounen complain about shounen being predictable.
90% of everything is worthless shit and any actual fan of any medium dedicates his time to exploring the 10%. The difference with modern Yea Forums is that people here actually celebrate the 90% which is why you get posts this retarded
Yea Forums makes it a competition about watching as much as possible. Do you really think legit cinema connoisseurs waste their time with Adam Sandler and Jason Friedberg/Aaron Seltzer productions just to brag about their numbers watched on a board dedicated entirely to forcing shitty, unfunny memes?
It's important to make the best out of what you like, or just give up completely.
>90% of everything is worthless shit and any actual fan of any medium dedicates his time to exploring the 10%.
Even if you rigidly stick to that ratio it equates to about 6 shows a season which isn't that bad.
Were there really 60 shows this season? I'm really enjoying maybe 3 or 4 shows this season (picture unrelated), the rest is filler.
idk I can't
maybe it's the zoom zoom mentality that's taking over my small wet brain
JK Meshi was from a few years ago but I don't think the total per season had changed that much. HS alone are uploading >50 shows this season and there are a few fansubbed series as well.
To really enjoy even 3 shows in a season isn't even that bad.
I feel the reason I like anime so much is that even with filler series I can enjoy them. Of the 11 shows I'm watching this season I'd only really say 2 of them are particularly bad, but not bad enough to drop.
>watching moe for the plot and not for simple escapist entertainment
You're doing it all wrong.
Just imagine watching shounenshit only.
This is why Yea Forums never accepted this crap before. Recent cancer has taken over and overgrown.
Sage for shitty thread made by an ignorant.
That's actually a pretty dull appraoch, given how there's no way to figure out what the 10% are. Since every genre has good shows, and every director will make something worthwhile throughout their career, you'll be forced to watch a lot of garbage to actually find the stuff that isn't. You can't rely on anime reviewers or databases, since their userbases are terrible at spotting actual quality or merit. There are so many exceptional pieces of animation that have a below 7 rating on MAL it's almost infuriating. The perfect solution to this dilemma is having a high droprate. As far as I am concerned, if you don't have a droprate of at least 30% for TV shows then you're either a shit-eater who behaves like a hoarder or you simply refuse to leave your comformzone. But then Yea Forumsnons will tell you that you "dont actually know if a show is good unless you've finished it", in which case you can end the conversation since you're talking to a complete moron.
