Kengan Ashura anime teaser is out. looks like shit

Japs use some strange kind of 3d soft that sucks when modelling old people. Source does it pretty fine.

To add to it, if this choice of making it 3d is to have a consistently solid fight animation (aka, not like Berserk), I’m down with it.

I don’t get what they were thinking, Kazuo’s render is by a wide margin the worst part of this trailer yet they put him in first. They totally botched his 3d model.

Reminds me of berserk 2016, and I couldn't stand that shit.

I think the problem is they used the same bones for his face as for all the other characters. But Kazuo is much more expressive than most of the other cast. Jerry Tyson would probably have the same problem.

it turns out that cute girls (and one cake) doing cute things (and lifting) is a safer bet than Kengan

3D is probably the future of anime, as evidenced by where Disney etc. went with their productions, but this one is not very exciting. I'll give it a try, I mean I already watched Kemono Friends, nothing is worse visually than Kemono Friends, but I don't have high hopes.

It looks cheaper than the canadian CG shows I grew up with. When Reboot has less stiff animation I don't feel the greatest amount of confidence in a modern CG combat show.

It's funny that his 100% fanservice manga is getting a better anime adaptation.

It's likely cheaper later on due to being able to reuse assets very easily, that's probably what they're counting on considering it could easily go for >100 episodes.
