Last time, Kanade continued to feel down after learing that she wasn't the only prospective protege Abby was interested in. She was so distracted that she kept messing up the Grand Defile rehearsals and her scheduled lesson with Abby went poorly as she actually began to doubt Abby's assertion that she wanted Kanade to come to London. Still overflowing with doubt, Takimoto reminded her that she had Risa's support in the costume she was wearing and that all she needed to do was go out and dance the best she could. Kanade was able to calm herself and find her nerve as, with Sakura and Andrea watching from Munich and Marseille, she prepared to step onto the stage.
This chapter, we'll see just how much of that nerve Kanade was able to find.
Well, I don't know what the translator was thinking about when he made that, but it's like over 9000 galaxies away from the tone of the series.

I guess it depends on what the original Japanese was since I think he translates from Jap to English and then runs it by others who speak the language (or maybe he's got some knowledge of it?) for the French/German.

>her brain has been so mindfucked by Nichols that it make her forget all the genki dancing, which causes her to accidentally makes her a face and attitude that perfectly fits the role a proud Greek goddess that she totally doesn't understand otherwise (role that she forgot to play as he's trying to focus on technic), which in turn causes her to give her best performance ever on the most important time she ever had to face
It's the lukiest fluke ever, or a total 4,5D reverse onehand alien chess by Nichols.

Is Kanade a zika baby?

Well the comments were never really on her acting. Oliver comments on her musicality and a lot of the others (including Takimoto) are impressed by her athleticism/technique while she's remembering everything she'd learned up to that point.

It's definitely something that I'm glad Kanade's recognized, that there's more than the Royal Ballet.

What tone? This series is pretty grounded, and if anything, properly painting ballerinas as badasses, unlike the caricatural image they hold most of the time. I wouldn't bat an eye hearing that myself.
For what it's worth going by the raws she's expressive and happy during her finals dance and the reaction she gets at the end of it is pretty big. It's going to be about being able to synthesize the strong, confident Diana with the passionate, charismatic Kanade.

Come on, are you telling me that swearing is a thing in this manga? Because that's clearly what "Putain, elle vole !" is. In fact, there's a real difference with the English translation that sounds much more in phase with the rest of the manga, and the French translation that litterally says "Bitch is flying!". While the series is grounded and certainly not childish in its tone, it's still not using swearing, so I wonder what happened here.

short reportage in opéra national with English subtitles quite interesting focus in technical points, especially from the point of view of the male partners, something we barely see in the manga part a short scene with Akito.
It shows the various school buildings and details the course through the years and the daily schedule of the students. Something that has been talked about earlier in the manga is how the students have to learn history of dance and arts, and various music and theater acting lessons for role interpretation and understanding, something that Kanade still struggles a lot with. Interesting to see as it really relates to the life the various characters want to live.

She doesn't drop her acting, though? Abigail even said her interpretation of Diana will have to do for now (chasing down a scholarship deal), which Kanade expressed again. I'm thinking she overloaded trying to apply all the corrections she was given and had written down, and had no time to enjoy dancing.

Stuff like that is cool and really makes me appreciate that it was brought up in the series too. The whole "weight of history" deal and being reminded that ballet is much bigger than them.

I never feel like Kanade has gotten where she is through flukes or dumb luck either.

Honestly it's my favorite ongoing series so I just want to give it some more exposure. I'd say the only thing close to it is Asebi but I think that actually just ended in Japistan so it's just a matter of the translations catching up.
