during the relationship with Rui there was plenty of flags that suggested that the NatsuoxRui relationship was always going to end, and being done by Rui with a clear mind all but confirms she did it with the desire of moving on and just becoming family with Natsuo. So that ship is pretty much dead.
During the relationship with Rui, there was several Hina moments to suggest Hina and Natsuo will be together together again that even Rui thought about. Rui will most likely give her blessing to Natsuo and Hina out of the whole 'destiny' thing.

Obviously Kajita is the real main. His back story is just too deep. We're bound to see a spin off of his life. This bike riding bad ass went from a school drop out, to a kitchen slave like the local fast food workers, to becoming a licensed chef with incredible skill. He sacrificed his future and ended up with no other specialty in life to work with all for the sake of his family. That is deep. Then like fate has it, this girl who cuts her hand has to take leave and he gets hired as a result. They went on multiple dates and will eventually get married. What a happy ending~

No matter how much she fights it, she wants to be with Natsuo again and its only for Rui that she has always stopped herself.

And it was Rui who took herself out of the picture. If anything, Rui will be the one to support Hina and Natsuo being together again one she has moved on.

I feel that while they're captured, Misaki will ask Natsuo about his relationships with Hina and Rui, which gets fast forwarded from one panel to the next so Misaki gets the whole story in the same chapter.
then probobly go into flashback with Misaki and Hina talking and Hina revealing how much she still loves Natsuo, which Misaki brings up to Natsuo and, because she now knows about Natsuos relationships with Rui and Hina, will say that Natsuo and Hina are the better couple and should get together again

If Rui's problem was her selfish side than perhaps Hina's is the opposite. Her resigning herself to be the 3rd wheel is good and all, and very idealistic and kind too, but I don't think it's as simple as that.
Between and , there's not that much difference.
Sometimes the things that bring us comfort aren't necessarily the healthiest. Hina's comfort zone around Natsuo tending to him, but in that, she might run the risk of overdoing things, setting herself last and run into a situation where her desire to aid him and help him at every step, might end up being toxic for the both of them, due to her inability to properly put her feelings into perspective, or perhaps her reluctance to do so. It's not ill will that's causing it, it's just anxiety.

I know there needs to be appropriate time before Hina can make any move on Natsuo, but i'd prefer Sasuga adding more HinaxNatsuo moments thoughout the Misaki arc, because all the focus on the drugs, Misaki and the trouble she's putting Natsuo in is kinda killing my interest. I just want Natsuo to make peace with Rui, acknowledge that ending the relationship is for the best, and for Hina to make her moves. Unless this whole drug arc helps to bring Hina and Natsuo closer, its just feels like stretching out the story to make it seem longer.

Sure he cant write and his girlfriend dumped him, but he's doing far better compared to the complete mess he was in when Hina left. And back then he had writing to help him get up and improve himself. With Rui, he had writers block before, during and now after the breakup, he lost the most important part of himself, his writing, the same thing that helped him move on from Hina, and he is still doing MILES better than he was when Hina left.

Fyi, he's not doing better than when hina left. At first, he was a living corpse caving himself in his room, refusing to eat until his best friend beat some senses into him (hina's letter). Then he motivated himself to become a self substained novelist after graduation so he can welcome her back. Through all the ups and downs, he has never lost his writing, his dream goal, up until now.
Not only he's unable to write, his ex gf dumped him, saying she can't fix him and they're only a burden to each other. Hina's mistaken to not wanting him back either. He doesn't have a reason to try to overcome his block this time. He is, as misaki put it, hopeless, dead inside.

Artists have been doing drugs since forever, a quick simple google will show it, they see drugs as an ally, don't understand why though, since I'm not an artist. So while it's not too far fetched that natsuo may fall as low as misaki but I think hina, marie, fumiya would bitch slap him so hard if he even considered it.

that would make sense if he just didn't know. If he knew Hina still loved him it would give him something. I guess the story is made to make it more obvious to the readers than Natsuo. Though i reckon he would go on a guilt trip if he did know considering how much Hina was hurting the whole time.

Perhaps they'll be a flashback of Misaki and Hina talking that Misaki uses to bring up that Hina is still in love to give him a glimpse of hope and something worth improving himself for. Or maybe the rings will be revealed to him.

Its because drugs activate the brain in such a way that it stimulates the creativity parts of their brain. While that may be good on a mental state, the drawbacks far out way the benefits. Even Stephen King was a coke addict for a time.

As for Natsuo considering drugs, it may not be too far fetched, but considering how aggressive Japan is on Drugs (they still have death sentences over that thing) and how it would also risk black labeling the social lifes of his family and associates im pretty sure he would avoid it. Dunno.

Like is said, Kei needed to move the plot forward by removing Hina for some time to give Rui some chance. The story goes out of its way to give Rui multiple opportunities while constantly putting everything against Hina to the point that it becomes hilarious.

He only hugged rui because she was purposefully wearing a long wig. A hairstyle she didn't even like, she went back to short hair later.
Plus that act of love was purely for hina and hina alone. After he officially dated hina, he no longer gave rui any mixed signal of where his true feelings is.

Well, what else could he possibly do? Hina lied to him, his parents hid the truth from him, rui knew but went "nah, fuck it" and then later threatened hina not to do anything, his didn't know a single thing.

My point is that if Shuu hadn't lied to him about Hina moving on, he wouldnt of been down in the dumps, and probobly would of had more self control upon seeing Rui in the wig. The reason he was so quick to embrace her thinking it was Hina was because of how sad he was at the thought of Shuu being right, and as soon as he saw someone resembling Hina, his common sense went out the door because he was so desperate to believe that Shuu was wrong and that Hina came back.

For us, the readers, sure since we can go back and pull all the quotes of Hina that prove she was in love with Natsuo even during her relationship with Shuu.

I think the reason she became "convincing" for Natsuo was because of the conditions her old school gave her about keeping the relationship from becoming public, which wasn't just relocating but also ceasing all contact with Natsuo.

Her 'act' here was another effort to protect Natsuo and his future, despite how much it hurt them both. It was probobly because she loves him so much she was able to pull off something that, as you say, if you stopped to think about, dosn't make sense.

thats just a theory though. that she loved Natsuo to the point she could convince him of something like that, as long as it was for his sake over hers.

I think I get your point. But I disagree it was his fault since he never intentionally use rui as her sister replacement. Even rui herself acknowledged that fact "this must be how he hugged hina".

Rui hasn't gotten over him and when hina broke up, it's only a matter of time before she continues seducing him again. She was "obsessed" with him.
