Yeah why not, it's not like it's any huge investment to read a chapter every week. I also really miss his art and I'm sure with a monthly or bi-monthly schedule he could deliver something that's even better than the first 20 volumes of TG.

I remember the demon-form of green haired girl was truly boner-inducing.
Anime was kinda weird some moments but it was quite ok in the end.

I hope he comes back to WSJ. That magazine looks like it's dying.

I fucking wish he would do the art for Chainsawman (not downplaying Fujitomoto, but Ishida just has more experience). They also have been friends since the early WYJ's days so it would've been perfect.

Same. Though, I unironically think that :RE lacked the edginess for the most part, which shaped Part 1 into the thing it was. Kaneki then getting curbstomped by Arima at the end was just the cherry on top, didn't expect that stuff. I truly miss the old Ishida, one can only hope that will deliver again in the near future.

Ishida did cut things short with regards to backstory on the ghouls' origins. VAMPIRES were speculated to exist a lot of times.

IMHO :re was shaping great up to the point of Kaneki re-awakening thanks to Eto.
I was pretty sure that Black Reaper would be culmination of Human Ken and Don Kaneki parts, someone who accepted his past, his flaws, his decisions, and set out to do things HE thought were proper. Even if it meant bringing suffering for both humans and ghouls.
Something we got a glimpse of when we got inner word talks during DRAGON forming.
Maybe yeah, that edgginess too. It would return too with how Kaneki would stop at nothing to do what he planned.
But then it went to shit with Furuta, Kagune magics, Kanou etc.
Only good things that came after that arc were how Cookie grew after the death of Sharkbro, buff Kaneki when he faced Arima and Hsiao ass. And of course Takizawa and Kurona.

Pretty much agree with your post, maybe except for the Takizawa and Kurona part, because they really didn't do that much after Rushima and got kinda sidelined.
My main issue with :RE is, that Kaneki doesn't really grow as a character after Arima's fight. Back in OG, we had situations such as when Kaneki gets tortured which then resulted in a change of his personality. Thus we got a newborn Kaneki, a new character if you will, somoneone who seeks after the truth that gave us many great moments like Kanou's confrontation in his labour, his reencounter with Rize or Kaneki having different conversations with many important characters from the series. All of these events were connected to each other in one way or another and ultimately related to Kaneki's end goal - to shed light on his past, so he can find his salvation. So Part 1 was heavily focused on Kaneki's journey and his interactions with the friends he made along the way, it had a great direction.

Then :RE starts and gives Kaneki's character a soft-reset. I really liked the parts where he has internal conflicts, which gave us a better picture of his inner feelings and mental state. After ~60 chapters, all of this comes to an end and we're pretty much left with a Kaneki who's very similar to Part 1 Kaneki but arguably more determined and suicidal. He gets his rematch with Arima, but instead of dying by his hands which should've resulted in his salvation, he finds motivation to live. This is peak character development for Kaneki, he's not suffering anymore, doesn't have internal conflicts nor does he want to die. Because of the fact that he only cares about his close ones, he doesn't find the motivation to help all ghoul and mankind that are not related to him. He turned bland and boring, directionless and is only driven by the fact that he awaits his newborn. So how does Ishida solve this problem? The story needs a more competent and motivated character to end the story, which is Furuta.
