Anons were discussing in the previous thread about the red dots. Hyakkimaru’s soul is not corrupted, the red spots aren’t connected to the people he killed. Before meeting Mio he was afflicted with changes in his life/body and the sand eater guy noticed his soul was also affected by red dots. Mio healed him. Spider monster was angry and felt superior to humans, that’s why Hyakki attacked her. But after she fell in love the only time Hyakkumaru attacked her was when she went berserk after her human was wounded. He calmed her down and Hyakki retreated as her soul looked clean again and let them go. Dororo thought it was because he could hear them. At the time sand eater looks at him in episode 11, Dororo had just told what happened to Mio. Hyakkimaru was probably feeling angry, sad, guilty. Maybe for a moment or maybe not. The red spots in their souls, except for demons who have red souls nevertheless, are connected to feelings. It's not a indicator if the person is evil or good, corrupted or not.

It's not only me who's "obsessed". Even Go Nagai himself got hooked on Tezuka's manga to the point he drew a crossover series with a sexy grown up ninja Dororo.
It's possible that the two of will them will split ways since it's also what happens at the end of the manga, but I also believe that a timeskip of a few years where the two of them reunite is not out of the question.

There will be at the very least one fake out where Hyakki will leave Dororo (or the other way around) I think. As for the reason there could be a lot. Like Hyakki's increasingly monstruous nature scaring Dororo away, Hyakki trying to protect Dororo by pushing her away, etc.

Having read/watched Inuyashiki and Banana Fish, I can say that Dororo is for me the best of the only 3 anime adaptations from MAPPA that I've watched. It's made by people who clearly are Tezuka's enthusiasts and are using 100% of their brain, they got rid of obsolete tropes and weren't afraid to introduce fresh ideas. They are retelling a classic story that everyone knows in an intelligent way, so that even manga fans won't get bored soon, as they literally don't know what could happen next time.

Unrelated to the episode, but I can't get over how they made Dororo's mom such a wimp in the anime. For being a bandit (or at least sticking with them) I find it hard to believe that she couldn't steal, or even hunt small animals. Did she seriously depended on her husband only? It is what happened narratively but in a different way, visually they were just animated panels of the manga, that's why I wouldn't use it to make predictions. Hyakkimaru fucking cries in the sequence with Mio, which led people to think he would have regained one or both eyes before her death, or right after it. Tahoumaru with a missing eye could either be an homage to his old design, or the foreshadowing. Even Dororo's parents (especially Hibukuro) look different than how they appear in episode 9, in a weird mix of Tezuka's style and the new anime style.

I do agree that they weren't that great themselves, however, they weren't that great specifically because they were primarily setups for payoff that should be incoming soon.
So long as the payoff is good these last two will have served their purpose and been good in the grand scheme. Keep in mind that "buildup" type episodes generally suck when you're watching week-to-week, but when taken as part of an entire series they're not that bad and actually serve as a linchpin.
