It was, in all seriousness, a decent to good show, but only that at best. Unironically considering it for AOTY is pathetic and OP is most likely baiting.
A couple standalone episodes were very impressive, however, and they could be contenders for episode of the year maybe. Too bad they were slapped into a poorly executed wider narrative that lost its character direction a couple episodes in.

HSL was rushed as fuck towards the end. The aunt didn't get properly built up enough and the entire fire and bad timing situation was unbelievably contrived, even if it provided a scenario where everyone had satisfying character resolutions. It really needed to be like 15 episodes, so it got crippled by seasonal TV limits. Manga still has a chance.
