By your logic, if popular characters are what people hate, why is Kamisato hated so much here then? He's relevant for only an entire arc which he appears in for almost 4 full volumes, and yet he's given so much shit and there's no tolerance for him as a char here.

I cant say I recall saying that popular characters are the only thing pople dislike. I seem to recall quite clearly saying that the tolerance for them by the fanbase is lower. Kamisato got a lot of attention all in a row regardless. To an unprecedented amount really. Only Aleister really compares and he's one of the most important characters in the entire series. Its not terribly surprising that people got tired of him even if they're not the majority.
