How do you feel about Abrided Series?

What about the ones where they're just outright better than the source material; i.e. SAO Abridged?

Speaking as someone who voice acted in some poor quality ones. They're a plague on humanity and I' surprised they were as popular as they were back in the day.

No amount of re-editing could make SAO watchable. So no.

Funny enough by themselves, but the culture around them is absolutely unbearable.

The only thing worse than talking to someone who claims, "the abridged series is better!" Is talking to someone who says, "I've only seen the abridged versions anyway!" While still participating in character discussions.

Shit like this is responsible for the western fanbase flanderising some characters so hard.

It's like talking to someone who only knows the characters/series from reading fanfiction.

DBZA is a fandub in all but name.

Was great up until the end of the Freeza saga. Once they started making an alternative dub, it lost me.

There are some things that he brought up in his streams, but I can't be arsed to go look for them. Basically, they split with amicable differences. He's obviously going to voice for them occasionally, but he's no longer TFS CEO and has moved, I think.

There were the dark ages when it was nothing but regurgitating memes from adult swim shows, then they started to get their own personality, but now it feels like a lot of abridged series are up their own ass trying to "fix" the property they're abridging. And it just comes off as shallow, watching a bunch of college aged chuckle fucks with much more time between episodes and the advantage of hindsight try to work in their own little fan-fictiony way of making a series better.
Having said that I still watch them so what does that say about me?
